The effects of physical properties of inks and printing conditions on printability in direct waterless lithography on glasses were examined. From the viewpoint of the excellence in accuracy of printing film thickness and printing image area size, the direct printing by the waterless lithographic plate of aluminium substrate was used.
Results are summarized as follows:
(1) Mean value of printing film thickness is dependent on printing speed (
V) and supplied ink film thickness (
T) on transfer plate.
(2) Accuracy of printing film thickness and printing image area size are dependent on tack of the ink (
Tack),
V,
T and
Tack, printing pressure,
T, respectively.
(3) By constructing the static model for analyzing the ink splitting, experimental results on printing speed can be explained qualitatively.
