    With the increasing number and variety of orders sent to printing companies, there has also been an increased burden on printing company salespersons. Consequently, there has been a significant decrease in the time available to clarify customers' real problems and to propose solutions, which is the original task of these salespersons. To address this issue, we propose the application of DX as a way of improving the efficiency of sales activities. Specifically, it involves the use of a printing mail-order system and marketing automation system. The printing mail-order system optimizes routine operations such as ordering printed materials or creating quotations. Further, marketing automation makes it easier to target high-probability customers, which increases sales efficiency.

    Printing is defined as a method of tacking on information or additional values to various "media," such as paper and clothing. Such printable media materials consist of cellulose, which is a skeletal component of plant cell walls and can be produced from plant fibers. Here, we introduce a technology for synthesizing fiber materials with photocatalytic bacterial killing and antiviral effects by combining environmentally friendly cellulose materials and titanium oxide (TiO2) photocatalysts without binders. Peel-off tests proved that the structure of fibers (TiO2-cellulose) produced in this study provides high structural stability compared to that produced by the conventional method. In addition, the sterilization and antiviral effects were confirmed by performing JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) tests, and it was demonstrated that the effects were maintained even after washing. The application of this newly proposed technology as a printing technology for media will contribute to the realization of a safe, secure, and sustainable society.

    World Venture Corporation has developed a technology that performs the personal authentication of portable cards and certificates without the need for any special infrastructure. In this paper, we introduce an engraving system that we developed after several years of research. First, we explain the details about the proposed Electronic Image Engraving System and engraved subject (plastic cards and papers). Thereafter, we introduce ID cards and certificate samples as usage examples for security authentication.

    This article explores the intangible value of LIMEX as an alternative material for paper, and how the story and message of the material itself, as well as its functionality, affect the user's psychology when it is used as a printing medium. Even as digital technologies become a major tool in the information society, the appeal of printed materials as objects that stimulate the five senses will not fade in the future. However, LIMEX complements the functions of paper and is a material on which new messages and stories can be added.

    G7 Certification is one of the printing quality management methods administered by Idealliance in the U.S. The only way for Japanese entities to obtain G7 Certification has been to attend a workshop in the U.S. or one organized by the Korean office, which is the contact point for the Asia-Pacific region. The textbooks used for the workshops are written in English, which is difficult for many Japanese. In 2021, the Japan Printing Academy became an Idealliance Official Partner in Japan and trained G7 Expert Members, who then translated the course materials into Japanese and held seminars in Japan in September 2022 and February 2023. Dedicated calibration software for the Japanese market has also been prepared, and preparations are now ongoing to begin full-fledged use of G7 in Japan.

    This paper describes the latest trends in printing-related technologies at IGAS2022. As an exhibition, although the size and number of visitors decreased, the equipment demonstrations attracted many visitors. As the first large equipment exhibition in many years, the enthusiasm of both exhibitors and visitors was palpable. One of the trends at this year's IGAS was the smart factory, which is based on automation, collaboration, and linkage. Other popular solutions were designed to increase the value of services provided by the printing business. Various solutions were introduced that not only add value to printed materials but also contribute to customers' businesses, making them partners in a sense. This paper aims to highlight the need to redefine the printing business and reconsider its aims as an industry.
