In order to decipher the effect of terrestrial environment on water and materials cycle, we performed the chemical analysis of river-water and GIS analysis in Kii Peninsula. As a result, bicarbonate concentrations are extremely low in southern area, and thus chemical components derived from rock weathering are low. We estimated bicarbonate supply per unit area by using both annual bicarbonate flux and catchment area. The result shows that bicarbonate supply in southern area is lower than other area. Surface analysis of GIS suggests that extremely low chemical compositions in southern area are affected by mean slope of catchment area.

Shiribetsu River was known as a clear stream leading Japan, and the lives of a people, river and the springwater by Mt. Yotei are concerned closely. Although water quality observation which carries out Shiribetsu River is performed, the water quality elucidation for the whole drain is not accomplished. In this study, it applied in May, 2012 ~ March, 2013, and performed the water survey late in odd month. Shiribetsu River shows Na-HCO3 type water quality from results of an investigation, it applies downstream, and dissolved matter increases.

To the quantitative evaluation of the diversity of land use land cover in Southeast Asia, we analyze the seasonal variation pattern of MODIS/NDVI in 2005. We attempted to classify land use and land cover. Based on the results of analyzing multi-year seasonal variation of MODIS/NDVI (Tojo et al. 2011), we aquired good forest distirbution map in this study.

In this study, we investigated the well in lowland Terai, Nepal. Carried out during the rainy season in August and the dry season in March 2012, in addition to · pH · EC · ORP · DO · AS water temperature, water sampling, survey, and each well is a well that can be measured by measuring the groundwater level, the depth of wells . The highest arsenic concentration was reached in 1047ppb Khokharpurwa (No.4). In addition there is a well of 577ppb (No.12), well (No.8) 513ppb was present Mahuwa Kunawar you put a little distance. Indicates that it is a high concentration arsenic zone in this region.

Water environment in the continent is extremely important for the elucidation of the global environmental system. In particular, the impact on the global environment from its size is large Eurasian continent. Central Asia is located in the central part of the Eurasian continent, is responsible for the foundation of the water environment of the continent. Among Central Asia, while having the water resources of the major rivers, Kyrgyzstan salt contamination by drainage of irrigation, pesticides, and from factories and tourist destinations are concerned. Say at Hosei University, research in Central Asia have been made since ancient times, but a wide range of subject areas, such as the Aral Sea Tibet Taklamakan Desert, only a few studies in Kyrgyzstan, still not enough. Take the water to the water around the rivers and lakes in eastern Kyrgyzstan, in this study, we have analyzed water quality. Water quality of the river was shallow groundwater type type ₃ Ca-HCO overall. On the other hand, inland lake is Lake Ishikukuru ion structure was close to the type Na-Cl. It is said that it has been concentrated by evaporation of water by drying. However, in the rivers and lakes and their inflows Ishikukuru left in a question that the structure of the major dissolved component is different. We analyzed mainly in groundwater and spring water in addition to the river, we will continue to make the clarification of the water environment around the lake Ishikukuru in the future.

The purpose of this study is to make clear the relation between land use and hydrological environment in a typical farm, Maues. In this presentation, we will show the result of field survey that the characteristics of geomorphology/geology and the physico-chemical characteristics of groundwater/surface water.Groundwater quality was deferent from each land use; it is relatively high in the artificial area. At the river, water quality of deeper depth water is relatively high. These shows human activities affect to water qualities in the local area, and groundwater partly discharge from river bed.

With the improvement of flood-control works such as embankments and dams, serious flood damages occur less frequently than before. However, the collapse of embankments may occasionally be inevitable and dams have been said to have a negative influence on the ecosystem of a river. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction changed its lines of flood control with the revise of the River Law in 1997. The flood control forest is to be an important structure in this context. This study aims to clarify various functions of the forests along the Kizu River.

The Sendai Coastal Lowland, which faces the Pacific Ocean, is 50 km long from north to south and 10-15 km wide from east to west. The Nanakita River and the Natori River flow through the lowland. Natural levees and back marshes are distributed in the inner area of the beach ridge ranges. And there are several NL-AC systems (natural levee and abandoned channel systems), which run into the back marshes from the main river courses. The purpose of this study is to determine the periods of mega-floods during Holocene, depending on the ages of mega-floods that covered the Sendai Coastal Lowland. The result of the study, mega-floods attacked this coastal aria during 2500-2400 yrBP and 1600-1500 yrBP.

The sampling point is Karekare swamp in Rarotonga Island. Arecaceae pollen grains are dominant in all layers. While Barringtonia pollen decreases rapidly in the upper part. The appearance ratio of Pandanus pollen is high in the lower part, but it decreases rapidly in upper layers. The appearance ratio of herbaceous plants such as Poaceae and Cyperaceae is remarkable in the upper layers. Considering that Barringtonia and Pandanus grow in the hinterland of mangrove forests, decrease in Barringtonia and Pandanus and increases in herbaceous plants suggest a disturbance of the hinterland vegetation.

Surface heat budget was analyzed for the inland area in Kanto region Japan. Background of this study is extreme hot climate in summer in the area. Surface sensible heat flux was estimated with the 1-D model of mixing layer growth and the measured layer height. The height of mixing layer determined from the JMA wind profiler data. The resulted sensible heat flux was 210 Wm-2 as an average of 9-12 LST in August 2011. We compared the flux with previous work; it was as same amount as that in Koganei (200 Wm-2) and is 2/3 of the downtown Tokyo (330 Wm-2).

Although supply in the outside was most of all, after introduction of PFI (Private Financial Initiative), the supply in the inside of new town has been extending. It is in the state of the 'inside > outside' now. It can be said that Senri New Town as the oldest new town in Japan is also in a big change term.

This means you do not have to lower the social cognition of geography. Therefore, as a scene that actually required, shows a scene of recognition of social issues of road safety, he explains.
