JOURNAL FREE ACCESSIn the case when scissions of both mainchains and crosslinks occur at the same time, the theoretical relationship between the change of chemical structure and the properties of the polymer network chains has already been studied by us. Then calculated and observed stress-relaxation curves of TT-cured natural rubber were compared, and it was found that the curve observed usually falls below the calculated one.
This discrepancy is considered to be based upon the reason of our imperfect network degradation theory, so the corrected theory in which dangling mainchains near by crosslinks suffered scission are ineffective in relation to stress relaxation was proposed and the new theoretical equations (36) and (44) were derived. JOURNAL FREE ACCESS2, 4-Bis (4-morpholinyl trithio)-6-R-s-triazine [R=NHC6H5, N(C4H9)2, SSSN(CH2)4O: TR3S] was found to be prepared by the reaction of 2, 4-dimercapto-6-R-s-triazine and dithiodimorpholine under acidicmedia. TR3S shows an excellent efficient vulcanizing property for NBR and BR crosslinking, far exceeding than that of the related compounds as 2, 4-bis (4-morpholinyl dithio)-or 2, 4-bis (4-morpholinyl monothio)-6-R-s-triazine. The cross linking reactivity of TR3S accelerated by the addition of a conventional accelerator as CBS, MBTS or TMTM to give thiotriazine crosslinkages in the crosslinked product. The combination set (135°C×72h), 33.8% and of TB, 13.6, 17.0 MPa; EB, 518, 366% before and after aging 72h at 130°C, respectively.View full abstractDownload PDF (635K) -

JOURNAL FREE ACCESSWe studied improvement of solid rubber by adding hydroxyterminated polybutadiene (HTPB) and phenolic resin. As the results of our study, tensile strength of vulcanized rubber were improved by addition of HTPB or modified HTPB. In spite of high hardness, the vulcanized rubber compounds by solid rubber with HTPB or modified HTPB showed high modulus at low elongation range, high breaking strength and high elongation at rupture break at once. And by adding HTPB or modified HTPB together with phenolic resin, vulcanized compounds showed excellent tensile properties. with above, addition of HTPB or modified HTPB showed excellent processability by decreasing the viscosity of rubber compound in the course of processing.View full abstractDownload PDF (1436K) -
