Recently Aluminum brass tube are often used to sea water cooling system in engine room of ships from corrosion-erosion.
Generally the pipe fitting which is fabricated by welding are better than casting at the following points.
(1) Manufacture period for an order
(2) Weight
(3) Cost
(4) Necessary measures to design alteration
However, the pipe fittings provided to above pipe line are made of Bronze by casting now, for the welding of Aluminium brass tube is not reliable.
Then we studied the next items in order to fabricate pipe fittings by welding of Aluminium brass tube.
(1) Welding method
(2) Mechanical strength
(3) Effects to resistance of corrosion-erosion
Depending upon the above findings, we developed a method of welding fabrication for Aluminium brass pipe fittings.
