Recently the demand of automation for marine use equipment have very increased.
As one trial of them, the thyristor techniques applying to motor controll, is being done since a few years, and obtaining good results.
Specially the thyristor technique application for the working ships is very much because of it's controll excellence, flexible applicability for the special technical demand, and many kinds of merits by contactless character.
Recently we have applied this technique for many kind of marine use equipment and believed firmly that we can solve many difficult matters more simply than by conventional technique.
In this paper reports we describe the general function of thyristor leonard anti para connection system and application methode to the special demand.
The special demand is auto tension function which requires many compensation, i.e.the variation of drum diameter by winding a warp, the mechanical loss variation, the influence of acceleration torque, and the protection of DC motor stalling and deacceleration.
