In this paper, we describe the influence of the particulate matter and in the exhaust gas on the structure of the honeycomb type catalysts in developing the shipboard NOx reduction plant. We set the cordierite honeycomb support in the small size test equipment, flowed the exhaust gas from marine diesel engine into the test equipment and investigated the influence of the particulate matter and the pressure loss. The test results are as follows. (1) As the test time becomes longer, the amount of the particulate matter increases. But the rate of the increase per time gets lower. (2) As the exhaust gas velocity becames higher, the amount of the particulate matter increases. But the amount of the particulate matter per gas volume decreases. (3) In case of the honeycomb with equal opening-ratio, the amount of the particulate matter increase as opening of honeycomb becames smaller. (4) As the exhaust gas temperature becames lower, the amount of the particulate matter in-creases.
A new data acquisition system by using the Ethernet LAN has been developed in cooperation with the authors and Sena Co. The data acquisition system has been installed in the T. S. OSHIMAMARU which belongss to Oshima National College of Maritime Technology. This paper describes the outline of the system mentioned above and the sea trial results. The test records show the load change clearly due to the operation of the ship. Finally, the data acquisition system proposed newly is proved to be a very useful one by illustrating the results of our experiments.
A video multimonitoring system has been installed in the T. S. Oshimamaru which belongs to Oshima National College of Maritime Technology. The system is able to deal pictures from 3 video cameras on board, 4 video cameras in the engine rom, a radar, the computer workstation of a data acquisition system and the camera of a remote controlled vehicle. The picture is stored by the computer of the multimonitoring system or 2 video decks and is shown to a 80 inches screen by a projector. The authors describe the outline of the system and a few applications.
Computer network has spread in late years in most of company and universities. This paper introduces each the latest equipment that attached about the outline training ship Yuge Maru belong to Yuge national colleges of maritime technology. Furthermore, although there are some papers about fuzzy and pid autopilot system, the authors reports the results that used computer network system LAN.
