The excitation of higher helical modes (m=1 and 2) in magnetized plasma column are theoretically investigated, under the assumptions that the perturbed densities have finite amplitude and that the densities of clectrons and ions are perturbed independently.
The wavelengthes of the helical modes (m=1 and 2) are calculated, and the theoretical values of the B-E
zO characteristics show that a hysterisis effect near the critical magnetic field B
c oxists.
