Travelling wave multiple mirror confinement of high temperature plasma for fusion application was examined by theoretical discussion using a diffusion equation. It was shown that confinement time and plasma density in the travelling wave multiple mirror field were about 20 times longer and higher than those in the static multiple mirror field. Technological estimation concerning the travelling multiple mirror field was also discussed.
A new toroidal magnet coil for fusion reactors is proposed which will greatly improve the accessibility to the device for assembly and maintenance. Two basic types of coil structures are employed : one which links the toroidal chamber and one which does not. The latter type of coils can be easily removed to provide improved access.
