We review applications of rotating electromagnetic fields to RF heating and RF control of plasmas. It is revealed that the rotating fields have many advantages over the RF fields of conventional type.
Computer simulations on a magnetically guided Lithium flow in an ICF reactor concept, SENRI-1, are described. The item to be studied is how to form a uniformly thick flow in spherical geometry. The code was developed by the two-dimensional MAC method.
Reactor design studies play a major role in providing focuses for the research and development of reactor technologies and components as well as a framework to explore and delineate problems to be solved for the establishment of fusion reactor feasibility. This paper summarizes the goals which should be aimed at in performing fusion reactor design studies in order that the output of study could be useful in these respects.
