ジャーナル フリーA case study on two villages of northern Miyagi Prefecture was carried out for village relocation in the period from Sanriku Tsunami of 1933 up to the Great East Japan Earthquake. As a result, the movement of the “old site return”, which has been a conventional dogma, was little. ジャーナル フリーThis paper discusses a support methodology used to establish community associations in temporary housing complexes after the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. We reveal the specific procedures and contents we used to establish one such community association in an Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, temporary housing complex via the local NPO. These procedures could be classified into four steps: (1) free meal distribution, (2) an explanatory meeting, (3) a preparatory meeting, and (4) an initial meeting of association members. Based on the results from Ishinomaki City, we proposed a support methodology that could serve to establish a community association in temporary housing complexes in other parts of Japan. The methodology consists of seven steps, including the NPO's procedures. The result should serve as a record of successes and challenges in disaster restoration regarding the livelihood of temporary housing complexes.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (1333K) -

ジャーナル フリーIn this paper, I developed a modified method to estimate the number of people moving to new houses between any two districts in a municipality by applying multiple regression analysis. Then, I applied the modified method to estimate the number of people moving to new houses between any two districts in 141 municipalities located in the Chugoku area. Using the aggregated estimated number of people moving to new houses in every demographic shift type in each municipality and the number of people moving to new houses between each municipality and outside municipalities, I analyzed the relation between the ratio of people moving to new houses in every demographic shift type divided by the municipal population and that of persons aged 65 or older divided by the municipal population.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (591K) -

ジャーナル フリーWe discussed the development of rural planning theory in late Taisho and early Showa period, paying special attention to the framework of rural planning proposed by Nobuyoshi Yamazaki. Yamazaki's proposal had the following features: 1) the rural area was regarded as a unique space, which required its own planning institution, in contraposition to urban area where city planning had been put in place, 2) both vertical and horizontal integration and coordination of rural administrative plans were necessary, in order for such planning institution to work effectively, and 3) proposed framework of rural planning also included the improvement of living environment as one of important areas along with economic development, which, presumably, was the influence of municipal socialism of the western society.抄録全体を表示PDF形式でダウンロード (616K)

ジャーナル フリーThis study summarized the current status and problems of underdeveloped regions policies in Korea, and paradigm change in Korea's underdeveloped regions policies and revitalization project were identified. As an idea for a more balanced development of the nation, the revitalization project was expended during 6 years in two 3-year phases from 2005 to 2010 for the underdeveloped regions.
