The aims of this study are to clarify how paradigm change of class research in Home Economics Education (Ito et al. 2003) has occurred in ten years from 2000 to 2009, and to explore future directions of class research of Home Economics Education. The results are as follows: 1) For all articles the number of class research has increased from 18.7% to 27.9% in the 1990s. 2) To examine the understanding of students, qualitative research has increased, and quantitative research was often used as well to maintain the objectivity of the studies. 3) To approach the reality of classes, many of methodologies were used to collect data including video data, audio data, participant observation, field notes, worksheets, students' descriptions, narratives, interviews, students' outputs, conferences, and evaluations. The future tasks will involve not only interpreting quantitative data but also examining qualitative data.
