The relationship between leaf positions and tropane alkaloid production was studied in
Duboisia myoporoides, D. leichhardtii, and their hybrids.
Almost all plants showed that leave quantity was less near the base.
Correlation was not found between scopolamine content and leaf position in all plants, but hyoscyamine content decreased near the base.
Hyoscyamine yield increased near the apex, but the same was not tended with scopolamine production.
