It was investigated for the relation between the examination times and the exposure to the personnel. At the purpose to minimize the radiation injury, the special exposure dose-rate distribution curves were performed at the maximum exposure condition setting the phantom, and the examination times could be limited from the exprosure dose for the place where the personnel presented. The examination times are possible to ten times by those with the Medical X-ray Protective Aprons.
Gas analysis and gas scavenging were studied when an argon laser scalpel was applied to a piece of meat in a similar way in which carbon dioxide laser was treated as described in our previous paper. The analysis and acavenging trial were carried out while the laser was set off at the power of 1,5 and 10W for a few minutes.The observed concentration of NO_X, CO and CO_2 were 0.05,2.2 and 450ppm, respectively.They are analogous to those found by carbon dioxide laser.The maximum for HCHO and CH_3COOH were 1.4 and 1 ppm, respectively. And those of H_2S, CH_3SH and CH_3NH_2 were 1,1 and 48ppm, respectively. All of these figures are lower than those found by carbon dioxide laser. However, these are quite enough to be responsible for offensive smell. Especially, the figures of CH_3SH and CH_3NH_2 are higher than the standards for working room air.The scavenging apparatus as same to the one used for carbon dioxide laser effectively collected micro-particle and tar like material as well as brought off the bad smell gases from laser irradiation zone.
