There are many reports on the crystal orientation relationship between each phases of eutectics, but it is not clear how these relationship can be appled to those eutectics which grow on the matrix dendrites in hypo or hyper eutectic regions. In unidirectionally solidified Al-CuAl
2 hypo-eutectic alloys, crystal orientation relationships are obsverved macroscopically by X-ray Pole Figure Diffraction method. Between Al & θ phases, there exsists Kraft's equilibrium crystal orientation relationship, but there interfaces are severely deviated from those equilibrium ones by local growth fluctuations. A model of lamellar growth on Aluminum dendrites was suggested.
