“Practices for Dietitians in Konan City“ is a guidance that indicates many roles of dietitians and registered dietitians in Konan city, Japan. Konan city( Kochi prefecture, Japan) was established in March 2006 by merger of four towns( Akaoka, Kagami, Noichi, Yasu) and a village (Yoshikawa). At that time, there were ten dietitians and registered dietitians in the schools( two nutrition teachers and three school dietitians) and in the health centers( four in health promotion section and one in children health care section), but their practices were independent each other. To organize local nutrition education (“shokuiku“) system, all dietitians and registered dietitians belong to the schools, the day nurseries and the city office (health centers) discussed thoroughly about their various practices in Konan city. Finally, it was judged that six kinds of the practices (food education in kindergartens and day nurseries, food service management, nutrition education in elementary and junior high school, training of “Health-mates“ a voluntary group, health counseling, and giving health information to the residents) should be appealed. The guidance was prepared based on the rearrangement of the practices and shown by illustration in addition of brief description of the practices.
