The present study aimed to clarify the effects of receiving nutrition teacher's class during elementary school on dietary habits in young adulthood. The study participants were 2nd and 3rd grade university students in the department of food science. Of 335 male and female students, 288 participants were finally included in the analyses. Data on dietary habits and lifestyle factors were obtained in November 2017 using a self-administered standardized questionnaire. Dietary habits during the past month were assessed using a validated brief-type self-administered Diet History Questionnaire. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used for statistical comparisons of the association between receiving nutrition education in elementary school and food intake in young adulthood. The results showed significantly higher intake of vegetables and eggs among participants with the receiving nutrition education in elementary school. Such an experience may help to improve dietary habits in young adulthood.
