In order to investigate the behavior of binder burn-out for developing thin-film electrodes for the electronic devices, various metal pastes were employed and the effects on the binder burn-out were studied. It was found that the precious metal paste showed catalytic activity during the binder bum-out and that the catalytic activity depended on the manufacturing process. In case of the dispersion process with the destruction of the oxidation film, it was found that the catalyst activity was enhanced by the dispersion since the oxidation film was destroyed by the dispersion to form new catalyst active metal surfaces. On the other hand, in case of the dispersion process without the destruction of the oxidation film, the catalyst activity remained the same by the dispersion.

A simple and easy method for evaluation of ordered structure of hydrophobic particles in self-assembled particulate monolayer films formed on water surface was proposed. The degree of ordered structures were evaluated by measuring the drag force exerting on a thin needle when it was moved transversely along the particle film by emersing the needle tip in the film. Two types of 0.8μm Stöber particles having different surface hydrophobicity were used as samples. By spreading the ethanol suspensions of these surface treated samples over a water surface, the particle films were prepared. A quartz needle with the diameter of 450μm was vertically stuck into the particle film and dragged transversely at a constant velocity along the particle film. As a result, periodical strong drag force peaks were observed for the well-ordered particle films, while the weak and random drag force peaks were obtained for disordered particle films.

Experimental case studies of ecology oriented mechanochemical reactions in two different genre were introduced, i. e. formation and reactivity of anion-doped titania and solid state Diels-Alder reaction between anthracene derivatives and benzoquinone. Theoretical background associated with the loss of symmetry of ligand field and molecules was explained by referring simulation studies.

Drug delivery system improves the efficacy of drug by the enhancement of absorption, controlling the body distribution and etc. This review reports the design method for drug delivery system with polymeric nanoparticle by surface modification. The fate of nanoparticle depends on the surface properties such as electrical charge, hydrophobicity as well as particle size. By modifying nanoparticles with polysorbate 80, the distribution percentage and retention time of nanoparticle in the brain tissue increased. By the modification with chitosan to provide positively charges, the cellular uptake of nanoparticle was increased. According to these results, the surface modified nanoparticulate system with the suitable material could deliver the drug more efficiently to the required tissue compared to the conventional dosage forms.
