The characteristics of jets injected from sub-nozzles into air guides of an air jet loom were investigated experimentally.Weft-guide system which is composed of air guides with rectangular-shaped passage and sub-nozzles with small two holes was used. It is shown that the flow pattern in steady jetting from single sub-nozzle is classified into 5 regions, and that the velocity profiles at region V display similar distributions independent of jetting angles of sub-nozzles. Furthermore, measured velocity profiles and static pressure in case of steady and pulsed jetting from numerous sub-nozzles are presented.
Weave types of woven fabrics were determined by analysing the two-dimensional arrangement of Fourier power spectra. Data collection and data analysis were done by image processing system based on a microcomputer. The relationships between the design paper of a cloth weave and Fourier power spectrum are summarized as follows : 1) Fourier power spectra of a cloth weave are observed in a unit cell corresponding to the power spectra of two neighboring warps and two neighboring fillings. 2) The number of weave harness is determined by counting the number of the power spectrum in the unit cell. 3) Design paper is obtained from the arrangement of power spectra in the unit cell.
