In order to verify that the results obtained in the previous model experiment are effective in practical interlacing process, we make interlacers by which ayarn can be exposed to an air jet continuously rather than intermittently, and try to produce interlaced yarns. The characteristics of these interlacers are also clarified by comparing with conventional interlacers. Furthermore, we investigate the yarn motion in a yarn path using an optical fiber sensor and explain the production mechanism of interlaced yarn. Results obtained are as follows.
(1) Continuous blowing of air jet can produce tangling and opening parts intermittently in practical interlacers.
(2) The interlacers made in this study produce more tangling parts in the high pressure region than the conventional interlacer with the equivalent cross-sectional area of air jet nozzle. In the low pressure region, however, the number of tangles is considerably less since the air jet force is decentralized.
(3) There is no relation betweenthe production of interlaced yarn and the yarn motion.
