Distributions of radial Young's moduli were estimated by pushing the side faces of two kinds of yarn packages One is made by twisted polyester yarn, the other is nylon-6 yarn package
The method of measuring radial Young's modulus is deduced from the relation between load acting on package and displacement of screw in package, for various yarn layer thicknesses and winding tensions
    1) Compression load (P) acting on nylon-6 yarn package is linear to displacement (U).
    2) Radial Young's modulus for polyester twisted yarn package is increased for the package formed under constant winding tension, and radial Young's modulus is constant for the package formed under controlled winding tension
    3) Radial Young's modulus for the nylon-6 yarn package is linear to winding tension.
These results show the necessity of the distribution of radial Young's modulus inyarn package in the stress-strain distribution

The purpose of this study was to determine women's college students' perceptions of appropriate clothings to fragrances. One hundred and six students rated the degree of appropriateness of five types of clothing (long sleeved traditional women's costume Furisode in Japanese, Jeans, Negligee, Suit, and Long-Dress) for each of five types of fragrance (Floral, Fruit, Green, Oriental, Citral).
The results of Friedman two-way analysis of variance indicated that there were significant differences in the mean ranks of the appropriate clothing for each of fragrance. The Long-Dress and Suit were perceived to be appronriate to Floral, Jeans to Green, and Furisode, Suit, and Long-Dress to Oriental. No clothing served in this study was perceived appropriate to Fruit or Citral.

There are many-two dimensional computer systems to garment patterns. However, they are unable to deal with three-dimensional designing.
We set up to develop a CAD system dealing with three-dimensional drawing and an automatic pattern making.
This system should have at least following two abilities : that is, (1) versatile technology by which an appropriate pattern can be obtained only by input of a pictorial fashion drawing which is allowed to be designed freely, (2) a sophisticated method which can simulate an entity of the garment in three dimension which has produced from the pattern just made by the foregoing system. So these two activities must be coordinated in each other.
An artificial intelligence will be used to realize (1), and heuristic methods were exploited in (2).
