Viscoelastic flow patterns and pressure drop in single slit and equidistant multistage slit channels were investigated. In single slit channel, circulating secondary flows were observed at the entrance, and abrupt expansion of streamlines (similar to die swell) was observed at the exit. In multistage slit channel, the circulating secondary flows at the first slit entrance were found to be the smallest compared to these at subsequent slits. These secondary flow regions depended on the first normal stress differences of the fluids. But the pressure drop per slit was the same through the channel. Relation between pressure drop and flow rate depended on the power law index.

The effects of fiber dimensions on the yarn structure formation have been investigated by using polyester fibers which differ in length (35mm, 51 mm) and/or in fineness (1 .5D, 2.0D). The effects of coupling and arrangement of the different fibers have been also investigated. The structure analysing method with two layered spun yarn applied to this investigation, is based on HPD (Helical Path Difference) defined as the accumulation of differences between the helical paths of the each fibers which the yarn consists of. When HPD is monotonically increasing or decreasing in an interval, it is considered that the yarn structure formation has been in the same process and that the increment or decrement of HPD in the interval ζ, which is called ΔHPD, is the critical value inducing fiber migration.
Following results have been observed experimentally.
    1) The two layered yarn which consists of finer and/or shorter fibers, shows larger ΔHPD, index-μ it and ζ.
    2) The LHPD of the yarn consisting of different fibers shows approximately mean value of ΔHPDs observed at the yarns consisting of each original fibers only.
    3) The coupling of different fibers causes some tendency of index-μ : the shorter and/or the coarsers tend to appear in the outer.
    4) The tendency of index-μ depending on the spinning direction is promoted or restrained according to the way of arrangement of the different fibers.

This study is concerned the computer patternmaking system which makes garment patterns automatically by input of the fashion drawing.
On the two previous papers, we reported that we have developed the system in case of tight-fitted garment and loose-fitted garment, severally. But in case of loose-fitted garment, the system can be applied only to flared skirts.
Therfore we tried to enlarge the system which can applied to other loose-fitted garments. We get the improved system which can be applied extensively to flared skirts, gathered skirts, and gathered & flared skirts.
Using this system, garment pattern can be made automatically by only inputting fashion drawing. So that, anybody can make garment patterns easily without the specialist knowledge.
