The purpose of this study is to clarify the similarities and differences between China and Japan in the evaluation and understanding of the text information about the Hiroshima tourism landscape images due to various variables such as knowledge, cultural background, travel experience and others. As the results, the similarity is that China and Japan both attach importance to the experience activities and large-scale content which young people may interested in, while the difference is that Chinese students pay more attention to Japanese elements and unique Japanese experience, but Japanese students pay attention to the regional particularity of Hiroshima.

We investigated the minimum illuminance level that enables the safe tracheal suction of children by family at night. We performed experiments of simulated operations under the warm-colored illuminations (Tcp=3000 K) from 200 lx to 3 lx by 11 subjects. As the result, the complexion and lip color changes can be identified at 3 lx by all subjects. On the other hand, there are great differences between subjects in the tube insertion task to cannula hole. However, five out of 11 subjects can perform the insertion task without difficulty at the illuminance of 3 lx.

The velocity field in a naturally ventilated building within urban-like arrays was explored by means of large-eddy simulations. The reduced-scale building models were utilized to examine the impact of the geometric conditions in surrounding buildings and cross-ventilating windows on flow statistics as well as instantaneous velocity fields in a sheltered building. The obtained results indicated how the incoming flow was propagated in the target building. Although simplified conditions were employed, the present findings of the features of cross-ventilation are valuable to consider the effect of outdoor turbulent flow to indoor wind environment.

In this study, full-scale experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of a Coandă air-conditioning system compatible with variable air volume controls that meets the economic and energy conservation requirements for office buildings. First, we confirmed that a good temperature environment can be formed even at a small air volume where temperature uniformity is disadvantageous and at a large air volume where drafts could occur. Next, thermal comfort was evaluated by subject experiments at a large air volume where the airflow was easily affected.

This study focused on fatigue and performance of cooks by age in the kitchen environment in fast food restaurants by changing the work style. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the factors that reduce productivity, accumulate fatigue, and reduce concentration by the age of the cook. Based on a questionnaire survey, we propose a new working style sitting a stool or hip bar in the kitchen and clarifying its effect on fatigue and performance.

This paper focused on the impact of lifestyle changes in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the electricity demand of 1398 detached houses during Apr. 2020–Sep. 2020. The rate of increase in power consumption excluding space cooling was the largest in April with an average of 19% for all households. The reason of this increase was analyzed with questionnaire survey. 87 households with room air conditioners consumed more space cooling power in August than usual at an increase of 23%. Power consumption of the centralized air conditioner was less affected than that of the room air conditioner.
