The traditional regional divisions of Fukushima Prefecture were reorganized by the complex disasters, March 11, 2011. We aim at describing the change of connectivity spaces between main 100 places by buses, rails, and cars. The data are collected concerning timetables of bus and rail before and after 2011, digital road network with Transportation Census, and geographical information for interruption of roads and rails. Our methodology has two parts: shortest path analysis and Q-analysis. Daily living area is territorialized by 30 and 60 minutes accessibilities.  The Q-topographic maps tell us  Hama-dori is divided into three parts, and newly reorganized with Naka-dori..

Hokkaido Shiribetsu River is known as one of Japan's clear stream, it is a river that boasts a rich spring water due to Niseko mountain range and Mt. Sorrel. However, research on Shiribetsu River is not enough, understand the hydrological characteristics of the entire basin is not performed. You have to understand the seasonal variation of water quality and composition in basin scale through the study of one year from May 2012 in this study. Water quality composition varies greatly in each single tributary, pH indicates alkaline by agricultural runoff due to dairy in mainstream middle section, the impact on the watershed unit is less due to base flow and stop the dam. It is strongly influenced by geology HCO3-can be seen high in the foothills south Mt.Yotei Looking at each tributary basin. It also includes the acidic by SO42-in tributary originating from Iounupuri, can be seen to influence the mainstream. This study, a variety of water quality composition was observed under the influence of land use and geology, I have seen has a different basin inflow process of snowmelt water in snowmelt season in Shiribetsu River basin. I want to promote a detailed basin analysis than to calculate the amount of load by watershed unit while using the tank model in the future.

This study aims at evaluation of living environment in temporary housing that assumed by temperature and humidity as indexes. The observation is conducted in 3 architectural types of temporary housing in Miyako city, Iwate prefecture, Japan. The types of temporary housing have mainly controlled the slight difference in the daily variations of temperature and humidity, which is caused by the quantity of insulation. In temporary housing which has less insulation, the high temperature in summer days and the large difference of temperature in the house in winter are potentially capable of causing the heat stroke and the stroke, respectively, to residents.

We are now confronted with the facts that a lot of active faults exist close to the nuclear facilities in Japan.  These facilities exposed to dangers have been in operations for a long time.  Geographers, especially geomorphologists, are responsible for making such dangerous situations.  Goemophologists are in the leading role evaluating the activity of active faults.  Break with the past when the discussions of nuclear power had been under taboo, and raise many important suggestions and issues about nuclear safety review.

According to KOPPEN’s climatic classification, Nara and Kyoto are belonging to Cfa and in Japanese climatic classification they are belonging to Setouchi climate ( less precipitation). But they have very different climatic features in summer as drought in Nara basin and high temperature and humid in Kyoto basin. In this study, the author analyzed climatological water balance by showing hyther-graph and Thornthwaite’s method. As results, comparing Nara and Kyoto, summer rain fall is slightly different and water surplus in Kyoto is more than Nara.

Geographers should act in front of harsh reality of nuclear disaster in Fukushima. Geography is the discipline that position the diverse elements in the environment and their interrelationship into the framework of time and space. By recognizing characteristics of the region, Geography has a function to repair decoupling among humans and among regions. Based on this function, geographers should act to find agreement between life and radioactive contamination.

Understanding of the water environment in the islands is important for the use of water to people living in the island, the value of research in terms of understanding of the sub-regional water environment (islands). The target area, Izu islands are volcanic islands, which were created by volcanic activities. Their water environment can be considered as extra ordinary. There are various characteristics of the islands, but especially volcanic islands have high permeability of water, less permanent rivers and difficulties to contain fresh water . In this study, I set Izu islamds, which were bult by volcanic activities and an isolated island, through the comparison of the findings, he explores the challenge to clarify the current status of the water environment in each island. As you can see in the water composition part, all through the islands, from the effects of sea-based rainwater environment of isolated island was great. If you look at the key diagram, there’s a variation in the vertical direction, from the fact that the point was strongly influenced by water type Na-Cl significant impact from the sea and the rain is coming in the upper right plots in other areas which can be mixed with groundwater that are relatively long residence time are ploted on the per-left and lower left. The Islands with Strong influence of rainfall are plotted to the right of the key diagram. In any islands, percentage of NaCl has a lot to do in the water composition, looking at the distribution of the diagram. There’s some densely populated areas , distributed in the water environment of Izu Islands, the remarkable human pollution can’t be seen in the Islands, except for such areas. Natural effects such as annual precipitation, drought are considered as heavily involved.

This paper analyzes the rate and amount of inter prefectural in-migration and out-migration of people aged 60 to 64 by municipalities, based on the 2010 Population Census in Japan. There are only 25 municipalities of which number of 60 to 64 year old in migrants from other prefectures exceeds 100 while at the same time surpasses 5% of the overall 60 to 64 year old population of the municipality. Half of which is a municipality in a coastal area or mountain resort which is close to the Tokyo metropolitan area. On the other hand, suburban cities, such as Funabashi and Suita, have a relatively higher rate and amount of out migrants.

In recent years, Lake Inawashiro slightly acidic lake with lake area fourth in Japan, came to neutralize is attention, investigation by various agencies have been made, but our research group in 2009 4 We have been continuing research from the moon.Already, we have been reporting their findings several times, each time to sort the results from the obtained from continuing observation of about four years during this time again, we refer to future measures and personnel of neutralization.      Point higher DOC EC and many rivers in Hubei section, DOC is high in Ogurogawa and Takahashi River in particular, the effects of Hubei inflow from rivers with high load is heavy throughout the year. In Nagasegawa of acidic river, water quality variation is small in the cold Hou period, have a lot of ups and downs in the warm period Hou much water intake is a flow largest river. In addition, stagnation and be eliminated also rivers that are usually stagnant when lake level is low, river situation is strongly dependent on the water level of Lake Inawashiro.Considering from the main dissolved component of water quality composition, little variation in general is cation shows a similar nature in the region. On the other hand, the variation is large anion, nature is very different and what part is in the northern part of the catchment area in particular.Concentration is different, but the composition of the lake water, are very similar to Nagasegawa, how to form a lake of acidic water from Nagasegawa is diluted became clear.

In the present century, a new form of tourism, which is a landing-type tourism (optional tour) in contrast with a departing-type tourism, has been attracting attention. The landing-type tourism is that local communities take the initiative in using local resources as tourist resources, which is also regarded as one of the effective approaches for disaster recovery. In July 2012, the area of the Hoshino Village, Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture, sustained significant damage caused by the heavy rains in Northern Kyushu. Accordingly, the author conducted a questionnaire survey targeting the residents of the Hoshino Village, who experienced the heavy rains, with an aim to understand how they see the current issues of their local communities and how they think about the possibilities of realizing the landing-type tourism. Based on the acknowledgement, the author advances discussions with the goal of determining the ways of tourism in the village in the future.

We examine the influence of grazing effect on grassland ecosystem by assessing spatio-temporal change in grazing pressure and incorporating the effect into a vegetation model. The recent grazing pressure in Mongolia ranges 0.34-0.54 Sheep Unit/ha, increasing in the normal years and dropping in drought/dzud (snow disaster) years. An experiment using a vegetation model Sim-CYCLE forced with outputs of a climatic model showed that the leaf area index was approximately halved for 0.1 SU/ha grazing pressure and shrunk to zero for 1.2 SU/ha. This result indicates that consideration of grazing pressure give non-negligible effects on the output of vegetation models.
