This study aims to clarify the effects of a workstyle that combines office work and working from home on Well-being of workers, and to clarify the effects of Well-being on workplace productivity of workers. From results of a questionnaire survey among workers, it was discovered that the lifestyle changes due to the combination of office work and working from home improved the Well-being of about half of the workers. In addition, it was found that improved Well-being increases workplace productivity of workers while working from home and even in the office.
The purpose of this study was to understand the effects of workers’ resilience on well-being and to identify the role of offices in improving resilience. Resilience was defined as the ability to reduce stress, recover from stress, and grow from stress. A web-based survey was administered to 1,000 respondents. The survey was conducted from October 25 to October 27, 2022. The results indicated that facilitating communication in the office is important for improving resilience, and that the office will continue to play a role as a place for communication to improve the resilience of office workers.
The purpose of this study is to understand the reality of riverside open cafes and to clarify the effectiveness of riverside utilization and the relationship between items. Therefore, we conducted two surveys of riverside open cafes in Hiroshima City. As a result, the effectiveness of riverside utilization was confirmed by the fact that more than half of the respondents use the cafes for the purpose of being on the riverside and that the users frequently viewed the riverside elements. It was also confirmed that seating position and purpose of use have a significant impact on utilization.
In this paper, a simplified regression equation that estimates spectral direct beam solar irradiance between 0.3 and 2.5 μm under all-weather conditions from broadband direct beam solar irradiance, is presented. Furthermore, three kinds of correction equations to correct the regression equation are created using solar direct beam transmittance, air-mass, and precipitable water. Using these equations, we calculated the all-weather spectral direct beam solar irradiance and compared it with the measurements. It was found that average of root mean square error for the estimated spectral direct beam solar irradiance decreased by 45.2% due to the effect of using all correction equations.
Natural ventilation has been actively introduced in office building, and much research on the prediction of airflow rate using LES simulation and effect of fluctuating wind and turbulence are studied in recent years. However, there are few studies that performed simultaneous indoor and outdoor numerical analysis on timeline. In this paper, the airflow rate calculated by LES simulation and flow network model based on time average wind pressure and instant wind pressure are compared, and it was made clear that the unsteady phenomena are essential to predict the airflow rate by wind turbulence in the case of natural ventilation design.
The purpose of this paper is to propose a simulation method that can calculate the effect of solar thermal equipment, the amount of heat available from solar heat, in a simple and quick manner. In this calculation logic, solar thermal equipment is decomposed into its mathematical elements, modeled linearly, and calculated in series. This simulation includes the characteristic values of the equipment, which have been experimentally measured in accordance with JIS (Japan Industrial Standard Committee). The calculation accuracy was confirmed by comparing it with the experimental data, and its usefulness as a simulator was verified.
・This study is based on a survey of ZEB companies. Of the 139 responses, 96 were for new construction and 43 were for existing buildings.
・Of the buildings converted to ZEB, 53% (73 cases) of the companies were involved and initiated the ZEB conversion.
・The company that initiates ZEB tends to have more knowledge about ZEB, and the ZEB rank tends to be higher due to the influence of the company's intention on the design process. it was thought that awareness activities and education to the company would be effective in spreading and promoting ZEB conversion.
