The dynamics olClassical φ^4 theory under weak and strong thermal gradients is studied. We obtain the thermal conductivity of the theory including its temperature dependence. Under moderately strong thermal gradients, the temperature profiles become visibly non-linear, yet the phenomenon can be understood using the linear response theory. When we move further away from equilibrium, we find that the linear response theory eventually breaks down, and the concept of local equilibrium also fails.

Thermal random phase approximation (TRPA) equation is extended to include entropy effect. This realizes a desirable formalism which is exact within the framework of the RPA at finite temperature.The extended form of the TRPA matrix precisely coincides with the stability matrix for the thermal Hartree-Fock-Bogohubov (THFB) solution. Extended forms of the completeness condition of the TRPA solutions and the energy-weighted sum rule are given. An importance of the couplings to pp- and hh-configurations is shown by numerical analysis of the temperature-dependence of the Landau splitting width based on a simple microscopic model.

Experiments of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of alkali atoms in harmonic traps which were achieved successfully have inspired various theoretical studies. So far many theoretical considerations are based on the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. In this report, we attempt to formulate the BEC in the language of quantum field theory, so that effects of quantum fluctuation can be estimated properly.

We study the spectral function of mesonic correlators at T>0. The mesonic correlators are measured along the temporal direction on anisotropic lattices. We propose a method to construct the spectral function from the correlators by the use of the truncated singular value decomposition and the maximal entropy method. It is applied to estimate the pseudo-scalar and vector spectral density near T_c.

Using the maximum entropy method, spectral functions of the pseudo-scalar and vector mesons are extracted from lattice Monte Carlo data of the imaginary time Green's functions. The resonance and continuum structures as well as the ground state peaks are successfully obtained. Error analysis of the resultant spectral functions is also given on the basis of the Bayes probability theory.

We present results for mesonic propagators in temporal and spatial directions at T below and above the deconfming transition in quenched QCD. Anisotropic lattices are used to get enough information in the temporal direction. We use the Wilson fermion action for light quarks and Fermilab action for heavy quarks.

The photon aiid dilcpton omission rates from quark gluou plasma and hot hadroiiic matter have been evaluated. The in-medium modifications of the particles appealing in the internal loop of the self energy diagram are taken into account by vising a phenomeuological effective Lagrangian approach, Brown-Rho and Nambu scaling scenarios. We note that the in-medium effects on the low invariant mass distribution of dilcptoii and transverse momentum spectra of photon are clearly visible.
