We study the collective response as function of excitation for typical isoscalar modes. We find a transition regime of about T = 2 MeV above which almost all strength is concentrated in a low frequency mode. As the most intriguing consequences we find that with increasing temperature the motion becomes overdamped and that its inertia turns into that for irrotational flow.

Octupole correlations in the superdeformed bands have been suggested by experimental data in odd-A nucleus ^<193>Hg. We investigate the property of couplings of quasiparticle modes with octupole-vibration modes(K = 0, 1, 2, 3) using the cranked Nilsson potential and RPA method. The odd quasiparticle states of neutrons in ^<193>Hg are clothed in low-lying octupole phonons(K = 2) and this fact can be a solution to difficulties found by the experiment.

The issues for a possible microscopic theory of collective rotations of genuine three-dimentional nature has been discussed. Stresses were put especially on the theoretical problem of how a picture of the "nuclear rotor" shows up, and on the practical problem of how to calculate quantities like the electromagnetic transition probabilities based on the symmetry-breaking mean-field approximation like the cranking model.

I have shown the update values of running quark masses at μ = 1 GeV. We need more improved formulation on the running quark mass estimate. We have determined the quark mass matrix structure (D_u, M^^^), which is expressed only by the observable quantities, quark masses and the KM matrix parameters. Our next task is to seek for quark bases (or, U_0) by which we can obtain a beautiful description of mass matrices.

KEK has chosen the B factory as the next project. It is very important that the project has a full theoretical support. At the same time, it is an opertunity to understand the real origin of CP violtion. This will certainly lead us to the physics beyond the standard model. BDK should design its activities so that it can stimulate the physics community along this line, and also educate students in doing real physics. I only covered few topics which should be of great interest for the next 10 〜 20 years. I am encouraged that there is already the BDK group which attempts to hold regular workshops on this type of physics.

A review is given on possible character change of sigma meson, pion,kaon, η-mesons and vector mesons (especially φmeson) in association with the chiral restoration and possible restoration of the axial U_A(1) symmetry at finite temperature and/or the baryonic density. A possible mechanism to enhance the baryonic susceptibility is given on the basis of the Nambu-Jona-Lassinio model.
