Considering the success of the Monte Carlo approach to the nonperturbative dynamics of QCD, it is natural to expect that a similar approach must be equally fruitful in understanding the nonperturbative dynamics of superstring theory. The main obstacle is due to the 'complex-action problem', which actually occurs in many other interesting systems in physics. We propose a new approach to this problem, which utilizes a factorization property of distribution functions. The method is quite general and it has been also tested in various θ-vacuum like systems and Random Matrix Theory for finite density QCD. In the application to the superstring theory, the distribution function turns out to be positive definite, which allows us to reduce the problem even further. Our numerical results suggest an intuitive explanation for the dynamical generation of 4d space-time. Recently the same conclusion has been also suggested by using the Gaussian expansion method.

We study the quark-gluon mixed condensate g<q^^-σ_<μν>G_<μν>q>, which is another chiral order parameter, using the SU(3)_c lattice QCD with the Kogut-Susskind(KS) fermion at the quenched level. We generate 100 gauge configurations on the 16^4 lattice with β = 6.0, and measure g<q^^-σ_<μν>G_<μν>q> at 16 points in each gauge configuration for each current-quark mass of m_q = 21,36,52 MeV. From the 1600 data for each m_q, we find m^2_0 ≡ g<q^^-σ_<μν>G_<μν>q>/<q^^-q> ≃ 2.5 GeV^2 at the lattice scale of a^<-1> ≃ 2GeV in the chiral limit. The large value of g<q^^-σ_<μν>G_<μν>q> suggests its importance in the operator product expansion(OPE) in QCD. We also show our preliminary results of g<qσ_<μν>G_μν>q> at finite temperature.

In this report, we show the procedure of k_T factorization proof in PQCD method by considering the radiative corrections to πγ^*→γ. Here one of the irreducible diagrams is demonstrated for the proof of the O(α_S) factorization as a concrete example. The procedure is simple and supplies us the key point toward the all-order proof of k_T factorization theorem. Furthermore this procedure is approved of extending to B→γlν^^-.

We discuss the perturbative QCD approach for exclusive non-leptonic two body B-meson decays. We briefly review its ingredients and some important theoretical issues related to the factorization approach. PQCD results are compatible with present experimental data for the charmless B-meson decays. We predict the possibility of large direct CP violation effects in B^O→π^+π^- (23±7%) and B^O→K^+π^- (-17±5%). For charmed decay B→D^<(*)>π, we get large non-factorizable contributions for Color-suppressed decays and obtain |a_2/a_1| 〜0.4-0.5 and Arg(a_2/a_1)〜-42^O. In the last section we investigate the method to extract the weak phases φ_2 from B→ππ decay and φ_3 from Kπ modes. From BaBar measurement of CP asymmetry for the π^+π^- decay, the prefered CKM weak phases are: φ_1=(24±2)^O, φ_2=(78±22)^O and φ_3=(78±22)^O.

We present a lattice QCD calculation of the heavy quark expansion parameters μ^2_π and μ^2_G for heavy-light mesons and heavy-light-light baryons. The calculation is carried out on a 20^3 × 48 lattice at β = 6.0 in the quenched approximation, using the lattice NRQCD action for heavy quarks. We obtain the parameters μ^2_π and μ^2_G in two different methods: a direct calculation of the matrix elements and an indirect calculation through the mass spectrum, and confirm that the both methods give consistent results. We also discuss an application to the lifetime ratios.
