We calculate the mass dependent renormalization factors of the vector and axial-vector currents on the lattice which one is heavy quark and the other is light, at one-loop order of perturbation theory, when the heavy quark is treated with the Fermilab formalism suggested by El-Khadra, Kronfeld, and Mackenzie. We present numerical results for the Wilson and Sheikholeslami-Wohlert actions, with and without tree-level rotation, and for tadpole-improvement. We find that in both cases our results smoothly interpolate from the static limit to the massless limit, and tadpole-improvement significantly reduces the one-loop coefficients of the renormalization factors. We also calculate the perturbative scales q for the same actions, with and without tadpole-improvement, using the formalism of Lepage and Mackenzie. We find that plaquette tadpole-improvemet significantly reduces q, on the other hand, the reduction is rather minimal the case of kappa ciritical tadpole-improvement. These results are useful for B (D) meson decay constants and for form factors in semi-leptonic B (D) decay.

In this talk, I consider the effects on big bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) of the hadronic decay of a long-lived massive particle. If high-energy hadrons are emitted near the BBN epoch (t〜10^<-2>-10^2 sec), they extraordinarily inter-convert the background nucleons each other even after the freeze-out time of the neutron to proton ratio. Then, produced light element abundances are changed, and that may result in a significant discrepancy between standard BBN and observations. Especially on the theoretical side, now we can obtain a lot of experimental data of hadrons and simulate the hadronic decay process executing the numerical code of the hadron fragmentation even in the high energy region where we have no experimental data. Using the computed light element abundances in the hadron-injection scenario, we derive a constraint on properties of such a particle by comparing our theoretical results with observations.
