A perturbative renormalization group (RG) scheme for light-front Hamiltonian is formulated on the basis of the Bloch-Horowitz effective Hamiltonian, and applied to the simplest φ^4 model with spontaneous breaking of the Z_2 symmetry. RG equations are derived at one-loop order for both symmetric and broken phases. The equations are consistent with those derived with the covariant perturbation theory. The regularized light-front Hamiltonians are different between the two phases.

We present the numerical analysis to the flavor non-singlet part of the g_1 structure function including all order resummantion of α_s In^2 x term which is expected to give so much stronger effects than the DGLAP evolution equation. We obtained about 100 % enhancement at x 〜 10^<-3> compared with the leading order analysis of the DGLAP eq. in the case of a flat input density. Then, we found out that the source of the large contribution was the resummed coefficient function which was removed in the calculation of J.Blumlein and A.Vogt in order to respect the factorization scheme independence.

We give a brief overview of nuclear parton distributions. First, the EMC effect is discussed together with possible interpretations such as nuclear binding and Q^2 rescaling. Next, we explain shadowing descriptions: vector-meson-dominance-type and partonrecombination models. Nuclear dependence of Q^2 evolution should be interesting in testing whether or not DGLAP equations could be applied to nuclear structure functions. Status of nuclear sea-quark and gluon distributions is discussed. The structure function b_1, which will be measured at HERMES and possibly at ELFE, could shed light on a new aspect of high-energy spin physics.

The angular width of a jet (jet-width) is defined by W_J =< (1 - cosθ) > as an infrared-safes parameter to characterise the shape of a jet in the e^+e^--annihilation, where θ is the angle of a hadron measured from the jet direction. Its average W^^- is evaluated at the next-to-leading order of the modified leading-log approximation. Measuring the width of its distribution, we can determine the value of the infrared cutoff below which the perturbative particle production terminates.

We have applied an analytical formula for Bose-Einstein correlations (BEC) developed by us recently to e^+e^- annihilation and to high-energy heavy ion collisions. It takes into account both Coulomb and strong (π-π s-wave; I=2) final state interactions (FSI). We have found that inclusion of the strong interaction in addition to Coulomb correction affects significantly the extracted parameters of the BEC like the source size R, the degree of coherence λ and the long-range correlation parameter γ.

Induced tensor charge of the nucleon g_T, which originates from G-parity violation, is evaluated from QCD sum rules. We find that q_T/q_A with g_A being the axial charge is -0.0152 ± 0.0053 which is proportional to u-d quark mass difference. This result is also consistent with the estimate in the MIT bag model.

We discuss an algebraic method for large-N_c baryons. Various representations of the spin and isospin group SU(4) which have the correct large-N_c limit are con- sidered. We demonstrate that some representations mimic effective models such as the quark model or the Skyrme model. We emphasize the hybrid picture of quarks and pions for nucleon structure at low energy.

We present the constituent quark model for nuclear stopping in high energy nuclear collisions. It is assumed that the collided nucleons are distinguished by the number of interacted quarks and they hadronize in different ways. After examining our model in proton-nucleus collisions, it is applied to nucleus-nucleus collisions. The results for the rapidity distribution of final protons are in good agreement with the experimental data on ^<32>S + ^<32>S at E_<lab> = 200 AGeV and ^<208>Pb + ^<208>Pb at E_<lab> = 160 AGeV. Theoretical predictions are also given for proton rapidity distribution in ^<197>Au + ^<197>Au at √s = 200 AGeV (BNL-RHIC).
