The treatment of mandibular fractures has advanced dramatically with the introduction of many new technologies, such as the development of surgical instruments, and improvement in treatment outcomes, but it is worth noting that the development of hybrid type arch bars in recent years has also led to significant changes in related treatment. Here we report on new treatment strategies using tools such as new hybrid type arch bars in the Matrix WAVE MMF® system for mandibular fractures. It is suggested that Matrix WAVE MMF® has a reduced risk of complications such as root damage and screw burying due to abnormal mucosal growth when compared to conventional hybrid type arch bars. Thus, Matrix WAVE MMF® may be used more frequently in the future and may be a useful option for the treatment of mandibular fractures.
