For simplification of dealings in the central wholesale markets and reduction ofexpenditures in the marketing systems, the standards of shipment are provided for almost all agricultural products as general commodities. In addition to harvesting, the farmers must sort and pack the agricultural products in accordance with the standards of shipment. This has resulted in an increase in the farmers' workloads.
Therefore we investigated the workloads of strawberry-growing farmers during sorting and packing strawberries.
According to the sandard of shipment, strawberries are graded into three categories by quality, six categories by size and three categories by weight, and that combination is very complicated. The farmers spend much time sorting and packing strawberries. Particularly in February and March when strawberries of all sizes are shipped, sorting and packing occupy more than60% of all working hours. The smaller in size the strawberries become, the more time the farmers spend on sorting and packing a pack. We investigated the farmers' work postures, Critical Flicker Fusion Frequency (CFF) and heart rate during work. The results of the investigation showed that sortingand packing strawberries constituted hard physical and mental labour because of the complicated standards. Inquiries regarding awareness of the standards of shipment revealed that 84.3% of the strawberry growing farmers recognized the necessity of the standard of shipment. But 64% of them hoped to make the standards simpler. Simplication of the standards of shipment might reduce farmers' workloads and moreover give consumers benefit.

High concentration of airborne particles was detected in greenhouse air after suspended particulate pesticide spraying. The reduction of aerial concentration of resprirable particulate pesticide was relatively slow.
To study the potential health effects of inhaled pesticide, the animals were exposed to the pesticide, methidathion particles in the inhalation exposure chamber. The exposed pesticide particles were approximately 2.16 μm mass median diameter.
The animals exposed to suspended particulate pesticide had a considerable amount of particles within alveolar macropharges and alveolar epithelia. The serious lesion of alveolar epithelia and capillary endothelia of the animals occured after inhalation of methidathion particles.
The vacuolar degeneration of hepatic cell was also cytosol decreased significantly after inhalation of methidathione particles.
The exposure to suspended particulate methidathion induced production of thiobarbituric acid reacting substances (TBARS) in hepatic cells of the exposed animals. The induction of TBARS formation in hepatic cells was remarkable at early period of exposure.
The change of serum transaminase (GOT) activities after exposure to methidathion particle was remarkable. GOT activities also markedly increased at early period of exposure.

Based on the results of health examinations and questionnaires, this study was made to find out about the health characteristics of women aged 30-69 who live in fishing villages and a mountain village, Shimane Prefecture. The subjects were divided into the obese group and the normal group in accordance with the Minowa method to clarify the difference in various health factors between the two groups. The normal group was made up of those women who have a normal body weight.
The major findings are as follows:
    1. A significant difference was noted in TG, blood pressure level and hypertension incidence (based on WHO criteria) between the two groups.
    2. The frequency of complaints about subjective symptoms of disorder in locomotive organs and other parts of the body was higher among the obese group than the normal group. The number of those women undergoing medical treatment was also larger among the obese group than the normal group.
    3. Women in both groups were concerned about obesity because they were well aware of the consequences of adult diseases.
    4. Only half of the women in the obese group succeeded in decreasing their body weight after they tried to control obesity by using moderation in eating sweets, improving their nutrition, practicing exercises and so on.

During the last 7 years in Ogori Daiichi General Hospital, three cases of foreign bodies in the bladder and urethra are treated, two cases with transurethral removal and a case with transvesical removal. All of three cases are males. Two cases of transurethral removal were performed at out-patient-department and a case of transvesical removal was hospitalized for 33 days after the operation under lumber anethesia.
A statistical investigation clearly showed that transurethral removal became more common than transvesical removal owing to the recent advances of endourological procedures.
