In rolling bearings, the values of radial clearance in operation, Δ_f, are distributed statistically within a certain limits for a given operating condition, and the initial clearance Δ_i should be selected to obtain the suitable distribution of Δ_f.
In this paper, by considering the clearance effect to the load distribution, the relation between Δ_i and Δ_f is described and an example of initial clearance selection is shown.
