This article discusses and evaluates an exercise for engineering designers introducing Kansei into engineering design process. The whole of Kansei make an ordered level structure consisting of three levels that are sensory cognition level, imagery cognition level, and attitude level. The Kansei on sensory cognition level is only suitable to be introduced into engineering design process. Kansei introducing is achieved only by repeating hand sketching over and over again in the first step of design process, therefore the hand sketch training is indispensable exercise forengineering designers. A product furnished with a Kansei conforming to the product planning has a kind of human touch and meets the demands of the times.

An advanced engineering course has been introduced at the Fukui National College of Technology. Each year, the laboratory accepts 2 or 3 graduate students and 4 or 5 undergraduate students (fifth year). The laboratory conducts research into 4 or 5 graduate research fields. Monthly meetings are held in the laboratory, with a discussion of each of the research themes by all of the laboratory members conducted for 2 hours. The supervisor chairs the announcement of research themes in the monthly progress meetings. Nurturing the technical communication ability of the students was set as an education goal. In addition, the debating potential of each student may be found in this way. Educational outcomes were analyzed by principal component analysis of educational data at each monthly meeting.

The Master of Engineering degree became substantially a necessary condition, when it aimed at activity in each professional field in civil engineering as engineers. Using PBL method, tutoring of learning and research to graduate students was carried out, referring to professional development system for engineers of Japan Federation of Engineering Societies and Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination in Japan. The results were worthwhile.

"Engineering design III " is a capstone-type subject at the "Engineering design education" which is a main curriculum in Kanazawa Institute of Technology, and it is done through one year in the senior course. In engineering design III, many trials have been done by the idea, knowledge and wisdom of each student in making "Research", "Product", and "Problem" be main keyword. In the author's laboratory, two students tried a creative and educational project entitled "Designing and manufacturing of automatic imprinting machine" in fiscal 2002. In this paper, the outline of this challenge is reported.

The education goal of College of Industrial Technology in Nihon University that was separated from College of Science and Technology in 1965 are "rearing of the engineering technologist who combines business management capacity and engineering technology capacity" and "strengthening of the cooperative education". Based on the idea "the fusional education of practice and theory" of the faculty establishment, the necessity of the work related education is emphasized. "Industrial practical training" which is a lead of the internship system is parallel to the learning of seat science and experiments and practical training, etc. in the university, and is imposed for all students as a compulsory subject. Industrial practical training in our college has the many distinctive original results which has cultivated in long history and experience over 38 years. These results are reported.

Experiments and practices are extremely important for the students in colleges of technology. Nevertheless, the students may carry out their experiments passively without understanding their own goals. Today, the colleges of technology are asked for going into partnership with industrial circles and municipalities. Most of the requests from industrial circles include matters familiar to the students. Several years ago, we fortunately had an opportunity to work on a subject matter directly linked with a request from industrial circles and dealt with it successfully.

In this paper, the contents of the assignment of the Technical Communication (TC)course, which has been continued from 1994 at Kogakuin University, and the educational effects obtained by this course are explained. The TC is a method to communicate the technical information in order to understand easily. In this course, we gave the students the assignment that they make "SHIKAKU"of a hiragana into the Chinese character of two characters, and write the brief paper on it.As a result, it is recognized that employing above assignment is effective to understand the TC and this course is necessary for students. It is concluded that our trial brought educational effects a great deal.

In an attempt to give students practical scientific knowledge and increase students' interest in science, Kisarazu Daiichi Junior High School has instituted the practice of inviting professors from Kisarazu National College of Technology to bring hands-on activities to its science classes. The ongoing guest teacher program requires JHS students to put the scientific theories they have learned into practice through the construction of simple scientific devices. Students are taught chief engineering principles and gain the opportunity to use tools and instruments to which they do not have access in ordinary science lessons. Learning through direct experience cultivates students' curiosity of nature world and gives them to a fresh impression of scientific theories of science and technology in their lives.
