The American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT), established in 1900, is the world’s largest scientific society dedicated to advancing the discipline of clinical pharmacology in service of patients. With a multidisciplinary membership spanning academia, industry, regulatory agencies, and healthcare, the Society has consistently fostered innovation and collaboration across the drug discovery, development, regulatory and therapeutic use continuum. ASCPT’s mission - Advancing clinical pharmacology, translational science, and therapeutics for the benefit of patients and society - has remained constant while its scope has expanded to encompass emerging domains including precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, quantitative modeling approaches, and novel therapeutic modalities. A central pillar of ASCPT’s work lies in its diverse and active membership program. The Society supports networks and communities organized around scientific domains as well as career-stage groups. Members have access to ongoing educational offerings, including an extensive webinar library, podcasts, and online learning modules, which ensure current knowledge and professional skill development. ASCPT also provides leadership and capacity-building opportunities via its Leadership Accelerator Program and the Low- to Middle-Income Country Accelerator Program, promoting global inclusion and nurturing emerging leaders. Through its journals (Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics; CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology; Clinical and Translational Science), the Society enables the advancement of the field’s scientific innovation. In May 2025, ASCPT convened a strategic summit with key stakeholders and thought leaders to articulate a vision for the future of clinical and translational pharmacology. The summit underscored the imperative to integrate multidisciplinary scientific advances, harness data science and artificial intelligence, broaden patient representation in research and clinical trials, and strengthen global collaboration. These priorities are in part informing ASCPT’s forthcoming new strategic plan. The Annual Meeting represents the Society’s central forum for dissemination and exchange within the field, consistently providing high-quality member-sourced scientific programming, dynamic and engaging session formats, and ample opportunities for collaboration and networking. The forthcoming meeting will be held March 4-6 2026 in Denver, Colorado, with its scientific programming highlighting how our field is uniquely positioned to advance pharmacoequity through its scientific tools, cross-disciplinary integration, and patient-centered approach across a wide application range from patient care, drug development to translational research. A joint JSCPT/ASCPT symposium is included that will discuss how global market access can be accelerated through early Japanese clinical pharmacology studies.
