A survey on the possible relation between individuals' physical development and the incidence of dental decay has been carried out on a population of primary and secondary school pupils which represented the most accelerated growth stages of human life. The body height, body weight and the chest girth were respectively adopted as measures for estimating individuals' physical attainment ; the mean values for respective item were calculated for each sex and each age stage and expressed by X, and the standard deviations of variate expressed by Sx. Magnitude of the physical attainment was classified into three categories, large, medium and small, corresponding respectively to those showing larger values than X^^-+Sx, to those showing smaller values than X^^-+Sx but larger values than X^^--Sx, and to those showing smaller values than X^^--Sx. Percent DMFT and percent decayed teeth refer respectively to the numbers of such teeth among the total number of existing permanent teeth as expressed in percentages. Results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. percent DMFT and Physical Attainment Higher percentages of DMFT were observed in individuals with inferior physique than in those with superior physique for both sexes. 2. Percent (dft+DMFT) and physical attainment Higher percentages of dft+DMFT were observed in the male subjects having lesser body weight and chest girth rather than in the comparable subjects with superior body weight and chest girth. With regard to body height in male subjects and body height, weight and chest girth in female subjects, hardly any significant relation could be observed to exist between the values obtained for these items and percentages of dft+DMFT.

A survey on the possible relation between individual's physical development and his status of permanent teeth eruption and incidence of dental decay has been conducted on a population of primary and secondary school pupils representing the most accelerated growth stages of human life. Results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. Relation between one's physique and number of erupted permanent teeth An increased number of erupted permanent teeth was observed in individuals of both sexes having the superior physique as examined for body height, body weight and chest girth. 2. Relation between one's physique and number of teeth having advanced carious lesion (C_3) Those individuals showing superior values in body height, body weight and chest girth, had lesser number of C_3-teeth. Those individuals who had greater number of teeth that had almost completely lost masticatory function, showed inferior physique than those who had lesser number of such teeth. 3. Physique and number of DMFT The present study failed to show any significant relation between one's physique and number of DMFT. 4. Physique and number of decayed teeth including number of dft plus DMFT No significant relation could be observed between the above two factors. 5. Hardly any difference in number of decayed teeth was observed to exist between those individuals having the toothbrushing habit and those having no such habit.

The authors have applied the malignolipin test, a cancer reaction, devised by pro. Kosaki, to the clinical diagnosis of malignant tumors and have obtained excellent results as follows. The positive rates of the test in cases with gastric cancer was 96.5% (272cases out of 282cases), and in cases with breast cancer it was 97.4% (37 cases out of 38 cases). Furthermore, even in the superficial carcinoma of the stomach, a carcinoma in its early stage, it was as excellent as 92.0% (23 cases out of 25 cases). On the other hand it was only 9.3% (10 cases out of 108 cases) in normal persons, then the test was used as a screening filter of the gastric-mass-survey, and one case of gastric cancer, who had no subjective complaint, was detected among 969 examinees. Next, the follow-up results of the patients after the gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma suggested that this method can be used for the early detection of the cancer recurrence or for the estimation of prognosis after the operation. Recently the authors have examined with this test the subjects with diseases of the oral region. The positive rate of the test was 92.4% (24 cases out of 26 cases) in the maligant tumors (maxillar carcinoma 6, mandibular carcinoma 6, lingual carcinoma 10, buccal carcinoma 3, and carcinoma of the floor of mouth 1), 25.0% (2 cases out of 8 cases) in the benign tumors, and 9.1% (1 case out of 11 cases) in the control group. After the radical removal of the malignant tumors the test turned negative in 6 months in 5 cases ; another 2 cases, who kept positive also postoperatively, died of recurrence. The facts indicate that the test is excellent as a clinical detection of malignant tumors.

During the dissction practice for students in 1966, the following three variations connecting with the muscles on the anterior neck were encountered. 1) No, 213 : age unknown, male. The present case shows an extre variation-muscle in the sternothyreoids, on each side. This variation-muscle would be one of the rarest variations. 2) No, 217 : age 60, male. This is one of the variation-muscle, M. cleidohyoideus, on the right side. 3) No, 229 : age 73, male. This variation is connected with the anterior belly of the digastric muscle, that was seen in the middle of portion between the right and left digastrics.
