  • −間伐材の有効利用を可能にするロボット加工機の応用研究−

    There is a problem that thinned woods are overly small diameter and un-uniform shape to saw up into lumbers as building elements. This research attempts to solve this problem by developing thinned woods processing system that consists of a thinned wood management database and robotic fabrication. In the database, thinned woods are managed as features based on photogrammetry. Appropriate materials are suggested when intended shapes are input into an inquiry function. In the robotic fabrication, a lathe-like work bench synchronously rotates the material with the robot’s movement. Validation by building log walls shows that variational shapes of thinned woods can be processed efficiently.

    We developed an information gathering and judgment system that supports building facility managers who do not specialize in architectural structural mechanics to decide continuous use of damaged buildings immediately after a major earthquake. In the development system, it is necessary for the structural engineer to set up major structural members for confirming the damage situation beforehand. After the earthquake, the facility managers register the visual confirmation result of the structural members, thereby presenting the information of building continuous use. We conducted experiment for verification of the system for building facility managers and extracted improvements and considerations for the system.
