    Fluid inclusions in the granitic intrusives occurring in Nariwa-gawa district have been observed. Based on the relationship between fluid inclusions and mineralization; the intrusive stocks are divided into five types.(i) The stock with polyphase inclusions and related with mineralization (P-M type): MG. KY. AT. KS. TN, OS, YK.(ii) Thectnrk with nnlvphace incliicinns but not related with mineralization (P-U type): KB, SD, UD.(iii) The stock with liquid inclusions and relatea with minerah. zation (L-M type): HK.(iv) The stock with liquid inclusions but not related with mineralization (L. U type): OK, YN, SS (v) The stock without fluid inclusion and not related with mineralization (N-U type): NR.The resnlt indicafes that the mineralization is generally found near the stocks containing polyphase inclusions, and that the mineralization is not found generally in the vicinity of the stock with only liquid inclusions or without fluid inclusions, although a few exceptional cases are found.

    The purpose of this paper is to study on the mechanism of failure of rock slopes by the model test through the use of the centrifuge equiped the apparatus for the strain measurement in models.
    For the purpose of the theoretical study, the authors have first analyzed the elasto-plastic behaviors of rock slopes by the use of Finite Element Method and the results of this analysis have been compared with the experimental results of the model test. This comparison shows that the slide of rock slope occurs on a circular like plane and at the same time the tension crack breaks out behind the slope and this slope slide can be foreseen by the measurement of strain on the upper horizontal surface behind the slope. In the case of stable slope, this strain increment is compressive, but in the case of unstable slope, this is tensile. Moreover, it is found that the values of the stability factor, as determined by the elasto-plastic analysis, are respectively nearly equal to the results of the two dimensional limit analysis supposed slides on the circular arcs. Finally, the authors have analyzed the quantitative relation between the experimental results and the theoretical stability factors and concretely refered to the strain softning phenomena in the plastic area neighboring the toe of the slope.

    On the direct rope haulage in the incline, its winding capacity is determined by the maximum static load acting on the rope.
    If its maximum static load is kept nearly constant all the time of winding, the winding machine can always work in the best condition of the capacity.
    For the purpose, I have applied the following quadratic equation for the shape of incline.
    y= xtanθ0-a0/2 (tanθ0 +β) x2where, θ0: inclination of the incline mouthe grand.: coeffient of the tub fdction. a0: constant number determined by the inclination and the length of the incline.
    The method is very simple. But, if you adopt this, you will be able to increase certainly more than one tub in the same condition as the haulage using the constant slope emtru at the forgiven numbers of the tub train in case of each haulage.

    In crushing by a single toggle jaw crusher. The locus of motion on the movable jaw face is much complicated, but the author regards this mechanism as the modification of the lever crank mechanism.
    A summary of the results is shown below:-(1) The velocity of momentum of its face is obtained by equation (4) or (5) in this paper.
    (2) The static crushing load of this crusher is obtained by equation (17) on the basis of principle of virtual displacement, and the author proved the theory by experiments.
    (3) The dynamic crushing load of this crusher is obtained by equation (18). This equation is caluculated by using the quantity of the load working to the toggle plate.
    (4) The author considered the force of inertia and the moment of inertia concerning this crusher.

    In the neutralization process of iron bearing acid mine drainage, iron hydroxide and gypsum are precipitated and dumped into a dam. It is important to separate these precipitates in order to utilize them as iron and gypsum resources.
    First, the floatability of ferric hydroxide, which was precipitated by the reaction of ferric chloride with sodium hydroxide and washed with pure water, and that of natural gypsum were examined at various pH using dodecyl ammonium acetate (DAA), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and sodium oleate (NaOl) as a collector. Using DAA, ferric hydroxide floated only in alkaline medium, whereas gypsum floated over the range of pH 3-11. On the other hand, when SDS or NaOl was used, gypsum floated in wide pH range. In this case, however, the floatability was lower than in the case of DAA. From the above results, it was expected that gypsum would be separated from ferric hydroxide by using DAA in acidic medium.
    Then, flotation tests were carried out on the mixture of gypsum and ferric hydroxide using DAA as a collector. As a result, the flatability of ferric hydroxide was very low even in alkaline medium and a good separation was achieved in wide pH range. This phenomenon may be related to the fact that ferric hydroxide was depressed in the saturated solution of gypsum.
    Also, when artificial gypsum was used instead of natural gypsum, similar results were obtained.

    The separation of Cu2+ and Ni2+ in an acidic aqueous solution with chelating ion-exchange resin, Dowex A-1, has been studied in the batch. and column processes. In the batch process, the adsorption test was carried out over the range of concentration from 0.001 to 0.1 M. Adsorption of Cu2+ and Ni2+ on the resin was influenced by various factors such as specieses of cation, pH value and concentration in the test solution. Although both Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions were adsorbed on the resin from the mixed solution, the adsorption ratio of Cu2+ to Ni2+ on the resin was increased with increasing the Cu2+ concentration in the solution. When thequantity of Cu2+ ion exceeds the exchange capacity of the resin, Cu2+ion was selectively adsorbed on the resin, and almost all of the Ni2+ ion remained in the solution. The data obtained from these experiments revealed that the batch process was more useful method than the column process for the selective separation of Cu2+ from the mixed solution containing Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions.
