The road transport law was amended on October 2006 and On-demand Bus service which has flexible route and flexible schedule will become more popular. In the On-demand Bus System, it is crucial to keep the arrival time of the individual customers to be punctual. This paper proposes new scheduling algorithm for this purpose with introducing slack time which regards as service time window in the bus stop. Simulation experiments for the model of Kashiwa-city were completed and the effectiveness of the algorithm was confirmed.
This paper shows the system development for the practical On-demand Bus introducing the routing and scheduling algorithm. In order to start the service, following functions are implemented, the reservation system on the phone and web, the communication to vehicles, and others. Community test in Kashiwa city shows that the service level of the developed service is lower than existing route bus in Willingness To Pay (WTP) analysis. However, it is confirmed that the satisfaction level of passengers is mostly related with accurate arrival time assignment function and the WTP increases for time-conscious users like commuters.
In this research, we propose the method to analyze international freight transport demand by a quasi-dynamic Spatial Computable General Equilibrium (SCGE) model. The SCGE model can describe the change of trade brought about by accumulation of capital stock, since it adopts quasi-dynamic framework. The results of scenario analysis by the SCGE model give us much useful information on future transportation policies.
We develop the potential model of industrial location, focusing on Kyusyu, Japan. In the potential model, some kinds of transportation cost of each region are explanatory variables, and the value of production by each industry in each region is an explained variable. Transportation cost is calculated from the Inter-regional Input-Output Table and the Industrial Statistics. Using the potential model of industrial location, we estimate the value of production in each region based on scenarios of developments of expressways and ports.
