This paper focuses on the trunk line transportation on holidays, where several issues such as traffic congestion on some expressways have not been improved in lack of analyses of individual behavior. The mode choice behavior between a trunk line railway and an automobile on holidays is analyzed by applying the disaggregate mode choice model with the consideration of personal subjective factors. The paper discusses some findings such as characteristics of choice behavior, which imply both some suitable service plans for environment friendly railways to grasp demands back from automobiles and proper methods of surveys and analyses.
