Based on the analysis of the measured concentrations of air pollutants, during the field burning of lumbered woods, such as suspended particles, tars, total hydro carbons (THC), carbon dioxides (C0
2), carbon oxides (CO) and odor, and the observed meteorological factors, the most reasonable emission factors were estimated.
The results obtained by this survey are as follows.
1) Generating rates of the smoke by burning lumbered woods were 1.2-4.1 Nm
3/sec.
2) Relationship between effective height of source (He) and wind velocity was regressed to the logarithm function, and that between widths of the smoke plume (σ) and the leeward distance (x) was regressed to the exponential function. He and σ are the parameters applied to the plume model in this analysis.
3) The emission factors of suspended particles, which were estimated by applying the plume model based on quantities trapped by high volume air samplers (HV), were 0.56-10.3mg/sec⋅kg weight of lumbered woods. These values were converted into 36-800mg/sec⋅m
3 volume of them.
4) The emission factors of tars, which were estimated based on trapped quantities in U bent glass tubes, were 2.8-4.7mg/sec·kg weight of lumbered woods. These values were converted into 93-320mg/sec⋅m
3volume of them. The values estimated from quantities trapped by HV were in the same order as them in RUN4 and RUNS.
5) The emission factors of THC, which were estimated based on measuring THC concentrations and generating quantities of smokes, were 0.56-3.4mg/sec⋅kg weight of lumbered woods. These values were converted into 19-270mg/sec⋅m
3 volume of them.
6) The emission factors of CO
2, which were estimated based on measuring CO
2 concentrations and generating quantities of smokes, were 1.2-3.1g /sec⋅kg weight of lumbered woods. These values were converted into 39-190g/sec⋅m
3 volume of them.
7) The emission factors of CO, which were estimated based on measuring CO concentrations and generating quantities of smokes, were 1.0-1.8g /sec⋅kg weight of lumbered woods. These values were converted into 69-100g /sec⋅m
3 volume of them.
