Stress distribution at the periphery of a circular and two pieces of rectangular shaped inclusions with prescribed various values of Young's modulus, were simulated and discussed by using the finite element method under the assumption that those inclusions were in the aluminum alloy matrix loaded with various stresses below the yielding stress of the aluminum alloy prescribed. Obtained conclusions were as follows: (1) In the case of a circular inclusion with lower Young's modulus, stress concentration were observed in the upper and lower ends of the inclusion, suggesting the occurrence of cracks on these ends and propagation of the cracks in a vertical direction versus tensile direction. (2) In the case of a circular inclusion with higher Young's modulus, stress concentration was obtained at the front and rear ends of the inclusion in the tensile direction, suggesting separation of the matrix and the inclusion particle and further generation and propagation of a void. (3) In the case of two pieces of rectangular inclusions having the same shape and size, the stress concentration and distributions were substantially affected by the relative positional relationships of the respective two inclusions positioned in the tensile direction. (4) In the case of changing the size of the inclusions, remarkable stress concentration were observed with larger size inclusion of lower Young's modulus and generous stress concentration for higher Young's modulus.

Stress distribution at the periphery of the elliptic inclusion model with prescribed various values of Young's modulus was simulated and discussed by using the finite element method under the assumptions that the inclusion was in aluminum alloy matrix loaded with various stresses below the yield point of the aluminum alloy prescribed and the variation of the form and size of the elliptic inclusion model. Obtained conclusions were as follows: (1) In the case of the elliptic inclusion with lower Young's modulus, stress concentration behaviour in the periphery of the inclusion was substantially affected by the relative locational relationships between the stress loading direction and the position of the elliptic inclusion. (2) In the case of an inclusion where the Young's modulus was higher than that of the matrix, stress concentration in the periphery of the inclusion was suggested to be rather remarkably affected by the shape of the inclusion and the relative locational relationships between the stress loading direction and the position of the elliptic inclusion rather than by the size of the inclusion.

In this paper, the characteristics of periodic heat transfer in annular fins attached to a tube of which inner surface temperature is varied periodically, is analyzed numerically by the finite difference method. As numerical examples, the effects of a length fins and a fin pitch on the average heat flow rates are showed.

CdTe films were prepared by simultaneous evaporation of Cd and Te using one boat. Films were deposited on glass substrates heated between 200 and 500 C. Film thickness, transmission, dark-and photocurrent were measured. X-ray diffraction techniques were used to analyze the structure and orientation of the films. These properties were related to the temperature of substrates and phosphorus added during evaporation.

The time behaviour of laser induced fluorescence for a variety of materials, such as crude oils, heavy oils and light oils is studied. The specificity of this "fluorescence decay spectrum" appears to be somewhat superior to that associated with the normal fluorescence spectrum. This laser fluoresensor may be of particular interest in the new form of environmental prove. experimental techniques and measurements are discussed in detail.

We obtain the dispersion curves of mixing mode between electrostatic and electro-magnetic waves which propagate perpendicularly to the ambient static magnetic field in a non-relativistic hot Maxwellian plasma. It is found that our waves pass through the plasma pause toward the earth surface, at that time the mode of waves change transverses from longitudinal.

This research aimed at the analysis of the changes in the heart rate caused by the training load given to young students. The experimental subjects in this research were 5 healthy male athletes in senior high school. All the subjects performed the stepping up-down exercise of 5 minutes duration with a frequency of 36 steps per minute using steps 35cm hight. The heart rate responses were recorded every 10 seconds by heart checker just before, during the stepping exercise and in the recovery period after the stepping exercise. The accumulated heart rate were calculated from the beginning of the stepping exercise, for 5 minutes during the stepping exercise and for 5 minutes after the stepping exercise. After the stepping exercise the subjects were required to sit on the bench for 5 minutes with out moving. And all the subjects participated in the measuring two times a week for three weeks. The results obtained were as follows : There were considarable differences in the accumulated heart rate obtained in case of after the training loaded and without training load in the 1st round measuring. But in the pair of 2nd, 3rd round measuring were not significant. In this case, the accumulated heart rate when after the training loaded showed no difference compared to that of the other rounds, while the results obtained when without the training load were clearly lower than the others. In case of after the training loaded, there were no direct linear relation between the stepping rounds and the accumulated heart rate during, after and the total of exercise.

In order to consider and discuss how and what to teach in the high school education of English, vocabulary lists will be necessary as the fundamental material for discussion. No vocabulary list of English Composition textbooks, however, has appeared though a great many have been tried about English Readers. We have here taken up five kinds of textbooks (15 volumes) and made the lists of the words and phrases included in them. Those lists, we hope, will reveal many suggestive facts about the character of English Composition textbooks, and eventually will lead to some clues to improve teaching methods and materials in high school English classes in our country.
