We sometimes meet students who say "I do not know what I want to do." How to guide them was discussed. The confusion of confidence in ability with confidence in existence makes students misunderstand that career development is not important. We should encourage students in their confidence in existence, but we must make them face with realism of their ability. Personal life design can not be managed by objectives such as enterprise activities, because a life is affected by too many factors beyond human knowledge. Students should keep making daily efforts towards such a short range goal as several years. And they are recommended to imagine occasionally a dream of long future. Two factors are important for students to find well a short range goal. One is appropriate proceeding of hierarchy of needs, and the other is the awareness of one's own emotion.

The human hand motions which are observed when one holds an object and transfer it to a specified position, are well represented by a mathematical model which shows that the motion trajectories are composed of a set of stationary functions in a variation problem in which a quadratic integral cost function is to be minimized. The time functions of which the space trajectories are constructed are classified six modes. Some relations between the model parameters and the kinematic features of the motion patterns are shown. In order to realize motions of this kind through general dynamic systems, a method is proposed for performing motion control by feeding a compensation input which is arranged to satisfy the final condition of the feedback control system which has been properly designed ahead of time.

Many trees are naturally or artificially planted in the campus of the Kisarazu National College of Technology. Those trees are loved by most of the students, the school staff and the local residents as a familiar landscape. The aims of this activity are utilization of those trees and wood resources for student education and school advertisement. As the first step, an investigation of school trees' names and a search of company dealing with tree labels were done for about these two years. Next, sticking tree labels on some trees has been done since last year. Final action is making home page which shows landscapes and trees' names relating to the campus map on the official school home page. This paper summarizes the purpose, the process and the current situation.

In the British parliamentary enclosure the decision of the boundary between parishes was sometimes very difficult. Many people demanded their right or customs. And it cost people to make public fens or roads in the parish. Commissioners coordinated their problems.

It has been reported that test-wiseness, test-taking techniques, unrelated to the traits a test is intended to measure, that may increase test takers' scores, may include the effects of coaching or experience in taking tests. But is that really true? Why is that? This study aims to reinvestigate the effect of teaching a test-taking strategy to Japanese students on their performance on EFL classroom-based tests. Eighty-one 2nd-grade public high school students in Tokyo participated in this study. The experimental group (n = 40) was taught the components of a test-taking strategy such as reading the instructions carefully, scheduling their time appropriately, delaying answering difficult test items, and so forth. The results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group (n = 41). The findings suggest that these is a positive relationship between test-performance and skills in test-taking. The findings also suggest that providing test-wise instructions to test-naive students encourages them to gain high scores as well as to improve their authentic English learning strategies.

This work is continuation of the previous report entitled "On the Experimental Manufacture of a Surface Light source for the Excitation of Pigment in Plant Leaves by using Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), bulletin of KNCT, vol.42, pp.63-72 (2007)". New excitation light sources for plant pigment are made by using ultraviolet LEDs (NSPU510CS, NICHIA, 375nm) and near-ultraviolet LEDs (NS400L-ERLM, Nitride Semiconductors, 400nm). The emission of visible light region from LEDs which obstructs fluorescence measurement of plant leaves is removed with the optical filters. Measurements of the fluorescence spectra of pothos (Scindapsus aureus) leaves with various chlorophyll contents can be made by means of these LEDs excitation in the same accuracy as the UV laser excitation. By using LED light sources, the measurement of chlorophyll induction kinetics in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) leaves is performed without damage to the leaf surface. In addition, the chlorophyll fluorescence is strongly observed by the near-ultraviolet LED excitation. These LED light sources can be used to measure the plant fluorescence as a substitute for laser light sources.

The authors developed KETpic as a plug-in of CAS to insert accurate and abundant figures in a TEX document. Recently KETpic was equipped with the functions for making tables and the layout of a page, and it was developed as the tool which synthetically supported TEX from the view point of making class materials with figures. In this paper we intoroduce these functions of KETpic.
