Acceptable limit for delay in response of computers was investigated, by means of an experiment in which 27 subjects played specially designed Othello game with delay in response. Subjects are split into two groups, one of which consists of 5 impatient subjects with patience rate with delay in response below 25%, and the other one of which consists of 22 subjects with patience rate over 70%. Further 22 subjects are split into two groups, one of which consists of 11 subjects with patience rate of 75〜97%, and the other one of which consists of 11 subjects with patience rate of 100%. Acceptable limit of delay time of impatient group would be 2s because they can wait for the response of computer at clicks under only 13% to all clicks in case of delay time over 2s. Acceptable limit of delay time of medium group might be 3s, but even than they can wait for the response at clicks over 86% to all clicks.

In recent years, it is recognized anew that the plant of the waterside is effective in the function of shore protection. And many researchers push forward investigation of bank of a river protection by vegetation. But in small river, since management is easy, concrete shore protection remains mostly. And a small river is in the state where it is waterway-ized. If a stalk plant is given to the waterway-ized river, scouring and a deposition action will start it. Consequently, a current and deep water are gradually formed in stream bed and small water-route is made. When we give this method at a suitable interval, it is enabled to be rich in a scene and to also provide an aquatic-life living thing with rich nature. I made vegetation on the riverbank fish market, and this study conducted an investigation into a change of a flow, and we examined as one of the nature-friendly river improvement of construction.

At the technical college, the curriculum is made up of general subjects and specialized subjects. Teaching staff are required to maintain the program to achieve the purpose of its education. In 2009, the liberal arts curriculum was revised to respond to the changing situation. The curriculum is applied to the first-year students in the year 2010, and those who will be admitted hereafter. This paper gives a full account of the details of the revision.

The purpose of this study is to examine the appropriateness which use animal model of rats for the study exercise induced-hyperuricemia, whose uricase activities were inhibited by potassium-oxonate (K-oxonate). The changes of purine metabolites in blood and skeletal muscle from rats following the exhaustive running exercise were observed. Rats were divided into three groups: resting control groups treated with K-oxonate (n=28) and without K-oxonate treatment (n=5), and an exercised group treated with K-oxonate (n=48). Purine metabolites were assayed by HPLC at 0,30 min, 1, 2, 3, and 5 hours after exhaustive exercise. Plasma allantoin concentration was suppressed by K-oxonate in both the exercise and control groups. There was a significant increase in plasma inosine concentrations from 1 hour to 5 hour of recovery. Plasma hypoxanthine was slightly increased immediately after exercise. In extensor digitorum longus muscle, ATP levels decreased, but IMP levels increased immediately after exercise. Inosine did not show a significant change, hypoxanthine levels were slightly increased following exercise in extensor digitorum longus muscle. The ATP levels in soleus muscle showed a tendency to decrease compaerd with the controls immediately after exercise, but it was not significant change. There were not significant changes in other purine metabolites in soleus muscle throughout experiment period. These results suggest that the use of K-oxonate treated rat model is appropriate for the study of the mechanism of exercise induced-hyperuricemia.

Recently, a corpus, a large collection of written or spoken language, is widely used in the field of linguistics and language education. The improvement of computer technology makes it possible for English researchers and English teachers to use corpora easily. The author has developed shell script programs, which can work on Linux, to analyze English vocabularies of a corpus and to help English teachers to make teaching materials. The purposes of this study were to develop a shell script program which calculates English vocabulary statistic of a corpus and to check whether the processing speed of the program can be suitable for practical use or not. The computer program developed in this study can calculate the numerical values of a corpus such as file size, tokens, types, type/token ratio (TTR), standardized TTR, mean word length, number of sentences, mean sentence length, number of paragraphs and mean paragraph length. As a result of test runs, it was revealed that the processing time increased in proportion to the size of a corpus, and it was concluded that the shell script program developed in this study can deal with 500,000 word corpus of English.

Testing and evaluation are required by most language teachers, so it is often necessary to give tests. Though teachers may have no choice but to give tests, there are also good reasons to do so, and if the tests and their results are used wisely, there are even benefits of testing, both for the students and teachers. In this paper, reasons for testing and how testing can be used in classroom-based evaluation are to be discussed. Though there exist different purposes of testing, tests are being underused if they are used only to evaluate how much students have achieved. The most neglected purpose of testing, however, is not only to allow students to see how well they are doing and how much progress they have made, but also to motivate students. This effect is called washback effect. When students know that they will be tested, that knowledge influences what they study and how they study, because studying certain materials or in a certain way will help them do well on the tests. The problem is that washback has the potential to be either beneficial or harmful in classroom settings. In order to avoid harmful washback, it is necessary to consider validity, reliability and especially test specifications which are an official statement by teachers of what tests cover. It is true that not everything covered in a class, or everything that students know about the language they are studying, can be covered in a test. However, the test specifications help the teacher make principled decisions about what to include in the test and how it is tested.

We confirm some of national cololleges of technology have faced the existence of students who have inadequate abilities of understanding and developing fundamental mathematics studied in junior year. So we decide to examine that the phenomenon is true or false by a questionnaire. This paper reports the result of this questionnaire.
