Abstract: Every year, English teachers of NIT, Kisarazu College, try to keep students’ motivation for English. Especially, vocabulary learning is one of the factors to improve student’s English skills, and providing the extra ways to help them learn vocabularies is also valuable. In 2021, we gave the students an opportunity to use e-learning materials called LINGUAPORTA. This paper reports the correlation between utilization time of English vocabulary learning tools and learning achievements, focusing on the student’s motivation toward COCET 2600.

At National Institute of Technology, Kisarazu College, the elective subject “Optional or Voluntary Activities” was introduced in academic year 2001, and has been practiced for 22 years. The subject covers three fields of students’ activities, including volunteer activities, and there are so many kinds of courses now. On the other hand, the legislation on education is sometimes amended, and it is necessary for us teachers to follow the revision. At the same time, we need to continue to check the situation of students. This paper discusses the effects of the field ‘credit approval based on the official certification examinations’ in English course.

This paper analyzes the first half of Chapter 5 of Yutaka Haniya's novel " Shire ". The purpose of the analysis is to clarify that Yutaka Haniya wrote this novel with the greatest emphasis on the act of thinking. The subject of the analysis is mainly three scenes. 1) A scene in which a top member of a revolutionary organization interrogates a person who betrayed the organization through espionage. 2) A scene of philosophical dialogue between the interrogator and the interrogated. 3) The scene where the interrogated person is executed. Through the analysis, it became clear that Yutaka Haniya believed that the only way for each human being to think thoroughly for themselves is to overcome their discomfort with the law of autonomy. It became clear that he insisted that the most important human behavior is to think thoroughly for himself, not to stop thinking, change the problem, or make a sophistry.

  • About the Conflict Between Akio Jissoji and Toshiro Ishido over " Mumyou "

In this paper, I discuss three films co-produced by Jissoji Productions and ATG, written by Toshiro Ishido and directed by Akio Jissoji, and discuss in detail the conflict between the writer and the director. At that time, I focused on the " mumyou " that they were particular about, and analyzed three movies. The conflict between Ishido and Jissoji over Herman Melville's short story " BARTLEBY, The Scrivener " was also analyzed in detail. Through analysis, I clarified that the " mind that can't be stopped even if you know " that Toshiro Ishido and Akio Jissoji had was the way of " mumyou " for them. I also examined in detail the process by which the word " mumyou " is linked to Bartleby's words " I would prefer not to." In the process, I pointed out the essence of the problem that Ishido and Jissouji had. Toshiro Ishido insists on the issue of ``a folklore bloodline that has continued since ancient times and has not yet been resolved,'' and Akio Jissoji insists on " the stigma of being a repatriate. " ' I was able to point out that in their last work, " Uta ", both issues were fused and sublimated.

Abstract: In the Showa prewar period, the Taiwan Institute of Technology was established in Taiwan following the example of the Japanese mainland. Those who participated tried to improve their status and voice by uniting engineers and interacting with each other. In their activities, they were searching for what an engineer should be. Reflecting an era of warfare already occurring in China, desirable duties included cooperating in the war.

The purpose of this paper is to examine what ethical issues arise when AI is used to cope with bullying. First, we review domestic and international guidelines for AI and determine their limitations. Based on this, we then point out that AI used in education needs to have a high level of fairness, transparency, and accountability, and that its developers and users must pay due attention to the relationship between technology and society. With these preliminary considerations, we go on to discuss three issues that we think must be taken into consideration in using AI to cope with bullying: namely, the possibility that some students may be more likely to count as perpetrators, a necessity of strict accountability on judgements made by AI, and the need to address the fact that the definition of bullying has changed over time.

Every year, our college offers many open lectures for local elementary or junior-high school students, and others. Mathematics teachers group had offered a series of open lectures (or kids science festivals) on polyhedra since 2010, and on the circle ratio π in 2022. In the present article, the author reported the contents and status of these extensions, and discussed two subjects as an application of experimental mathematics. Finally, he suggested to provide experimental mathematics in an extension in future.

This paper introduces an online manuscript submission system for automatically generating proceedings of a research presentation, used in department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Kisarazu KOSEN. This system has been developed by us since 2019 in order to electronically distribute proceedings and to reduce editor's workload of generation of proceedings. In the flow of generation of proceedings, first, a presenter (student) uploads a manuscript and registers information such as presentation order in affiliate laboratory and student ID to the system. Subsequently, when an editor inputs information such as presentation order of laboratory and presentation time of each presenter to the system, the system generates data of proceedings combined with a cover, a presentation program, and manuscripts sorted in presentation order. The system gets a good evaluation by users because of having been operated and improved over the past three years.

The purpose of this study is to remove the disturbing areas of the scanned photo alubum image. Each disturbing area is generated by superimposing the light reflected by the cover film of the photo album and increasing the brightness. In the proposed method, multiple images are taken while controlling the light source, and the reflected light is removed using these images. The verification experiments confirmed that the proposed method can remove reflected light in short time.

From the end of Edo to Meiji era, Japan suffered from repeated cholera pandemics, in one of which more than 100,000 people were killed. Therefore, in the early period of Meiji era, the spread of Western-style modern water supply system was urgently needed. The first water supply system in Japan was constructed in a foreign settlement in Yokohama by Henry Spencer Palmer who was a hired foreign engineer from England. The purpose of this report is to trace his trajectory in the history of Japanese water supply engineering as a reference for providing assistance to developing countries in the field of public health engineering.

The Science Council of Japan is a national academy organized by outstanding scientists. According to its statutes, its mission is to contribute to the peaceful reconstruction of the country and the welfare of human society, and to contribute to academic progress in partnership with the world academic community. The aim of this article is to overview the statements and reports issued by the Science Council of Japan over the past three decades, which are related to the global environment and control engineering. Many of those references concern the possibility that individual disciplines may be taking a narrow perspective on the relationship between science and technology, and between the social and natural environment. It is hoped that we will take a long-term, broad-based perspective.
