In designing a gas turbine, we are often confronted with cases, where the blade length is given. Meanwhile in usual design method, the blade length is not known, until entire calculation is over. Coincididing this calculated length with given one requires tedious repitions and time. The new method is explained with an example for both the compressor and power turbine. This uses Mc2, the Mach mumber of exit velocity c2 as its parameter. By adopting this method, the number of repition times is reduced conciderably, and the repitition becomes much simpler, thus saving lots of time and labor.

The static and dynamic characteristics on the bolted binding has been studied. One end of a beam is bolted on a base and the flexural stiffness, logarithmic decrement and natural frequency of the cantilever beam are measured for various tightening torques. It is found that the logarithmic decrement is under the influence of the amplitude of the vibration.

A method for displaying the kinematic motion of bodies on a CRT using a hybrid computer is described. The loci of the motion of bodies are computed by the analog computer and are stored in the digital memory beforehand. Along these loci the outlines of bodies, consisting of circles and lines, are illustrated as shifting forms at certain intervals on the CRT. An example of the collision of balls is shown.

The application of tensor algebra is found in the electric network, induction motors, and mathematical theories of communication etc., which many great peoples have sought out. We are shown electric networks have distributed-parameter circuits and lumped-parameter cirtuits roughly. Tensor algebra was applied lumped-parameter circuits, but some part of distributed-parameter circuits were not clear about properties of tensor algebra. So the author tried to apply tensor algebra with "tensor for circuits" of KRON to fundamental equations of distributed-parameter circuits. In this paper, he believes we will suggest some new problems about distributed-parameter circuits.

When we control an object the character of which is unknown or always varies, it is not possible to control the object by a feedback control. Then it is an adequate method to construct the system while measuring the character of the object, and this is a kind of adaptive control. We suppose a simple model system that controls an unknown object, and simulated the action by a computer. This paper discribes the control method and the results.

Various kind of control method to rectifier application are used. And for high speed and automatic control, electronic complicated circuits are used ordinarily. In this paper, propose a simplified circuit for above purposes, in which monostable vibrator are used suitably. Generally a monostable vibrator is used for obtaining a certain width pulse. Then, of course, differentiating this pulse, can be taken out a new delay pulse. And some times this new delay pulses are used for gate control. Now, as you know, this delay time can be controlled easily changing the circuit constant of monostable vibrator or supplied voltage to this circuits by which pulse width can be varied. And so, especial device for pulse shift control such as sowtooth generator, voltage comparater are not necesary and circuits become simpler than existing systems. Apply this method to S.C.R. power constant control and obtain good result effectively in spite of large fluctiations of A.C. voltage.

Transient phenomena of rectifier fault current has been analyzed until to now in various ways. In this paper, shows a method for display about rectifier fault current at transient condition. This device consists of a braun tube oscilloscope and a pulse generator and we can see a transient phenomena of rectifier fault current on a braum tube oscilloscope screen as a static figure at any fault condition. This method can be obtained easily when gate pulses for rectifier and sweep pulses for brawn tube oscilloscope are given suitably. In our case, using logic circuit and multi-channel oscilloscope, obtain transient current at any conditions.

Kanto Loam is softend by remolding, therefore if it is banked, fears will be entertained for the settlement in consequence of compression. We have considered by means of experiment the relation between remolding and compressibility characteristics of Kanto Loam, and this paper descrives that settlement characteristics of remolded Kanto Loam is much influenced by destruction of soil structure and transformation of confined water into free water.

This paper is a report on the results of studies about post-tensioned unbonded prestressed concrete beams. Test results of 14 T-beams are given, involving (1) three bonded prestressed concrete beams (2) six post-tensioned unbonded concrete beams (3) five post-tensioned bondless prestressed concrete beams using tendon covered asphalt. For various effective prestress force, the characteristics of these three types of prestressed concrete beams are compared in terms of load-stain relationships, load-deflection relationships, flexural rigidity and ultimate strength of beams failing in flexure.

Multispectrometer designed for various optical measurements, introduced in 1974, is first described. Behaviors of energy transfer in durene (1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene) crystal were studied by the use of this apparatus and previously constructed N2 laser. Emission spectra excited by ultraviolet light of 254 nm ranging from the near ultraviolet to visible parts were observed at room temperature and 77 K. The decaying process and temperature dependence of green emission (a characteristic of the durene crystal) were considered in relation to the intensity change of the near ultraviolet spectrum. Through these method, the mechanism of the green emission center and energy transfer in the durene crystal was discussed.

In the high β plasma, we compute the dispersion curves of the waves propagating perpendicularly to the magnetic field. Particularly, they are computed in and out of the plasmapause where the number of ion differ from each other place, and then we investigate whether the waves which occured out of the plasmapause can propagate into the plasmasphere or not.

When we translate a Japanese sentence into English, we sometimes cut it into two separate sentences without using any conjunctions. In this paper we tried to clarify the characteristics of sentence connection in the Japanese language by contrasting them with those in the English language. Though there are no relatives in Japanese, the pronouns 'ko' and 'so' especially play very important parts in sentence linking, and there are many conjunctions derived from pronouns. A particle 'wa' often unites all the sentences in a paragraph. A subject introduced by 'wa' often functions as that of the following sentence or sentences of a paragraph. In English there is a strong tendency to avoid repeating the same full words in a sentence or even in a paragraph, while in Japanese the same words are often used again and again in a sentence. Moreover it seems that the same words, when used many times, often join all the sentences in a paragraph. Finally we treated the ambiguous logical meaning of a connective particle 'ga.' Its use is so delicate that in some cases we can not decide whether it is copulative or adversative.

Four subjects (who were good runners) were employed in this study. (Table. 1) Running was performed gets the strobo-scope flash interrupted every 1/20 second in darken ground. The light-trace of the toe point was taken photograph by means of an ordinary camera with 200 millimeter telephoto lens. When starting, the stronger leg should be placed on the front block, and quicker leg should be placed on the rear block. It must be determined that the front leg have priority over the back leg. Four sprinters achieved better time in a 5 meter sprint by using the stronger leg against the front block. Best results were gained by keeping the back leg concentrating upon the powerful drive off the lead leg.

Professor Kitaro Nishida advocated his theory of "the contradictory self identity" (矛盾的自己同一) and "the active intuition" (行為的直観) in the problem of continuity of real number. His theories were influenced deeply by Buddhism. But Buddhism is religious teleology, and I have a doubt that Prof. Nishida built up his theories without criticism to the religious teleology of Buddhism. In this essay I have studied the propriety of his theories about the continuity of real number. My conclusion is that there is a contradiction between the concept of a point as a limitation of continuum and the concept of the continuity on the point itself. That is to say, the continuum has its original continuity, and its limitation by a point has no continuity. In spite of that, we intend to call up the original continuity on a point as limitation. This contradiction is not a mathematical problem but a philosophical one. So that the proofs on the continuity in mathematical arguments by R. Dedekind and G. Cantor are not sufficient. The mathematical theory that the infinitesimal is equal to zero is the theory with the intention of the solution of this contradiction. The intentional theory is subjective. This suggests that the theories of Prof. Nishida are also an intentional and subjective theories.
