Recently, the applications of fuzzy theory for electric appliances are increasing. A flexible thinking ways, which a human being has, can be described by fuzzy theory. At first, the summary of fuzzy theory is present in this study. Secondly, a consulting system for decision-making of cutting conditions in the beginner's lathe work is proposed. At this system, the professional knowledge of the skilled workers is expressed using membership functions and fuzzy control rules. And then, the estimated method described above is called "min-max-center of gravity method". Further in this system, membership functions and the result of this method are displayed on the computer's picture plane to understand visually the process of a decision regarding cutting conditions. By above-mentioned system, if a beginner inputs the value measured beforehand, he can instantly find out the cutting condition. In the last chapter, an example of utility using fuzzy theory is shown.

There have been many lightning accidents in power system operation, but the problems have not been solved in detail. Therefore, for safety and economical power supply, it is necessary to inquire into the cause of thunderstorm thoroughly in terms of the synthetic elements of lightning phenomena. As these solution, the following studies have been made public so far. (1) The frequency distribution map of the lightning discharges in Japan. (2) Lightning channel reconstruction by thunder analysis. (3) Observation of lightning locating system. And so, this paper describes a monitor system for lightning observation by computer. This observation system is designed for measuring the lightning intensity automatically. And this monitor system is able to display the state of lightning flash counters, the parameters of lightning electric field wave while observing lightning intensity. Moreover, the parameters, proper characteristics, is obtained from lightning electric field wave and the frequency characteristic by using program of computer.

Effects of lattice mismatch on electrical properties of thin n-type ZnSe epilayers grown on GaAs and InP substrates by MOVPE have been investigated. It is shown that the carrier concentration in the epilayer dramatically decreases with decreasing the layer thickness below about 0.5μm. By the DLTS analysis, it has been found that deep levels arising from the lattice mismatch are spatially localized near the heterointerface. It has been found that the defects generated during lattice relaxation seriously affect the electrical properties of the thin epilayers.

Half-order differential operators are applied to both the superparticle and the Ramond, Neveu and Schwarz superstring. The part of the locally supersymmetric superparticle action including the particle position and the gravitino is expressed in the same form as that of the fermionic one. The bosonic part of the RNS superstring action consisting of the string coordinates and the auxiliary fields is expressed, in the conformal gauge, in the same form as that of the fermionic one up to surface terms. The local supersymmetry of the superparticle action and half of the supersymmetry of the RNS superstring action can be made manifest.

We obtained the sufficient condition for the existence of a collision orbit asymptotic to the invariant set including Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser torus of retrograde satellites in the planar-circular restricted three-body problem. In addition, we numerically checked this condition under some values of parameters (C,μ) which are Jacobi constant and mass parameter, respectively.

A fluorescence meter to trace the induction kinetics of fluorescence from intact leaves was devised using diode laser (656.9nm). The apparatus equipped a two-channel detector system of different wavelengths (685nm and 738nm), considering the fluorescence spectra of intact leaves show two peaks. Data of 64 K points were incorporated into a big capacity digital memory then transfered to a computer system (Data processing system) for processing and display. By using the apparatus, the fluorescence induction curves of camphor, pasania, camellia, evergreen magnolia and pine tree leaves were examined. The characteristics of the induction curve varied with growth stages, plant species and temperatures. Accumulation of data is required for effective application of fluorescence kinetics to remote sensing.
