The automation of roof crane system is a important field of FA. Our purpose is to attain the automation of this system using a fuzzy neural network (FNN). Fuzzy variables for input and output layers are introduced for the method of FNN in this study. And learning using a neural network is carried out. The final output value of the FNN is obtained by applying fuzzy reasoning in output layer units. Then, by giving initial deflection and disturbance for the crane, the amount of hanging load deflection and control time to reach target position were analyzed by using computer simulation. In the case of the control to initial deflection, though residual deflection existed, it was observed that the trolley in the crane reached the target position accurately. In the case of the control to disturbance, it was found that the state of deflection was changed greatly by moving speed of the trolley.

Recently, following the social needs, it is demanded to decide the accurate positioning of manipulator and to make the high - speed operation. However, it is difficult to realize the high - speed trajectory control using the usual servo system because of the dynamic forces and nonlinear properties. Optimal tracking control theory, which is based on the terminal control theory adopting the feedforward input signals, is applied to the articulated robot having the parallel links mechanism. The method of the control theory described above is compared with the conventional state - feedback control (PID control) from the point of view of simulation and experiment in this paper. As the result, it is shown that the hand trajectory of the articulated robot using the optimal tracking control theory is trailing the desired trajectory more accurately comparing with the PID control.

A Reactive Ion Beam Etching (RIBE) system in our laboratory had good characteristics for mechanical etching but a poor rate for reactive etching. We have improved so that Reactive Ion Etching (RIE) is able to work with RF of 13.56 MHz in the same system. The improved parts are mainly a etching stage for RF injection and a cold trap with liquid nitrogen. As a result, the RIE operates at gas pressure with wide range of 20 - 500 [mTorr]. The etch rate for Niobium Nitride (NbN) is about 100 [A/min] at 20 [SCCM] of CF4 gas.

In this paper, for one of the purposes of collecting the basic data for simulating human functions as seen in the network in a sense required for the free association method which is one of the methods of analyzing human characters and mental conditions and neuro-computers, it was attempted to model the process of relatively simple selective thinking among human thinkings by using the program composed of neural nets and fuzzy theory, from both positive thinking and negative thinking, therefore, the techniques of its modeling and the results of the examination by comparing with the actual thinking process are reported.

In order to examine transverse distributions of incident light and chlorophyll fluorescence in relation to leaf anatomy, the micro-fluorescence imaging system reported previously was improved. P-GRAPH, a devised program file package working on MS-DOS system of a personal computer (NEC PC-9801) enables to compare light distribution patterns with leaf anatomy on a picture monitor and to conduct comprehensive image analysis, averaging, smoothing and many calculations among image data. Images of scattered light, and chlorophyll fluorescence measured at 687 nm and 741 nm of mature and senescent rice leaves were compared. Scattered light distributed deeper in the senescent leaf than in the mature leaf. Chlorophyll fluorescence at 741 nm distributed deeper than that at 687 nm in the mature leaf, while profiles of chlorophyll fluorescence at the both wavelengths were similar in the senescent leaf.

This thesis deals with investigation of the way how writing activity is concerned with setting up the students' ideas or opinions before they speak. The author of the thesis has the idea that writing plays important roles to lead the students to build up their original thoughts. This means that through writing activity they can be better communicators than they are otherwise. They are checked by several methods how to promote the speaking ability as a means of oral communication.

In recent years, many recorders have used the recording method in all offensive side aspects of volleyball - as a JVA offical system. Today we are in the situation that JVA system is beeing shifted to FIVB system (VIS). In this study, we planned a new recording system according to FIVB offical system called VIS (Volleyball Information System) and it is possible that only a few recorders will be able to take not only various offense but also defence informations with simple signs. And after that we will verify these records by V. T. R. and would like to analyze the informations based on these records and scout about for tactics of opponent team and find some regular rules.
