In our laboratory, manufacture and launch experiment of PET bottle rocket have been carried out for the students of 2nd grade as engineering introductive education of fluid dynamics. The visualization experiment of separation vortex using hydrogen bubble method over the PET bottle rocket, was performed in order to understand a stall phenomenon arising in the rocket at the optimum launching angle, which is calculated theoretically. In this paper, the actual circumstances of the combined experiments over the two grades, and the educational effects have been presented.

Edge conditions in a nonreciprocal medium such as a magnetized ferrite with a tensor permeability are analyzed theoretically. These conditions are available for the investigation into the magnetostatic waves propagationg in a magnetized ferrite with metal strips on it. The result of this analysis applying to some edge configurations shows the behavior of electromagnetic fields near the edge. The dependence of the exponent number τ on the frequency are obtained.

This paper shows an open lecture "Introduction to Linux". Linus B. Torvalds first developed the Linux kernel when he was a university student. There are various Linux systems with many applications, which are called distributions, and now everyone can use most of them as free software. However it is necessary to practice installing the Linux system into personal computer. In this lecture we worked about three contents: guidance about Linux, how to install the Linux and how to use the system.

In recent years, river has been built in consideration of environment or the scenery. This research inserts deflector in a curved river, and changes the direction of the streamline through a curve and thereby, the influence of the flow by curve is eased. When inserting deflector in a curved river, length is 40% of river width, and if an insertion position is insertion in 63% at the back of a curve, it is effective in direction change of a streamline. Moreover, if deflector is inserted by plurality rather than the singular, a direction change of a streamline will be obtained a big effect. However, it becomes the cause that makes the streamline of a down-stream produce disorder, and has left some problems. This research experiments by changing the curvature of a curve, and reports the result examined about the validity of the deflector by change of curvature.

This thesis consists of two parts for writing ability promotion: the writing ability to be able to promote by the using the dictionary, and the college students by using the skill of Basic English. In the first part the author tries to find out whether using dictionaries is helpful to promote the students ability by several experiments. The author's conclusion is that the use of dictionaries does not always promote the writing ability for the students. In the second study another author has tried to take up basic English when the college students write some reports about his or her study. The word "basic English" using here is not severely used as Basic English, but is used as the same meaning easy basic English. The author tries to avoid the students usage of difficult words which they find by the use of dictionaries. He concluded basic English is very good way to express the students.

This study was undertaken to examine the average scores of outdoor long distance running made by the students of Kisarazu National College of Technology and to prepare the standards for evaluation in the class. In this study, seven categories for the boy students and four categories for the girl students were made respectively and for each category the five grade evaluation system, which was prepared based on the average scores and the standard deviation, was established. In addition, it was examined whether the preparation of standards for evaluation was possible in indoor long distance running ornot.

The purpose of this present study is to investigate the task types found in five Monbu-kagaku-sho approved textbooks for Oral Communication I, which are currently used in senior high schools and national colleges of technology. In order to enhance students' ability to express their thoughts or opinions, it is important that the tasks are designed using authentic and communicative activities. Two viewpoints are applied to analyze the tasks: four levels of communicative activities and three aspects of self-expression scales. The obtained results of the analysis show that the number of authentic and meaningful tasks is relatively sufficient, respectively from half to all the tasks in the textbooks, but that the tasks to provoke students' self-expression and creativity are in the development stage in terms of quality and quantity.

In this paper, it attaches as a trial and it reports on the LCMS (Learning Contents Management System) introduction. LCMS is a system (mostly Web-based) that is used to author, approve, publish, and manage learning content. We used XOOPS that is one of CMS. XOOPS is a program that allows administrators to easily create dynamic websites with great content and many outstanding features. It is an ideal tool for developing small to large dynamic community websites. It was confirmed not to need expertise, and to be able to do the system management easily.

This study investigates how Japanese children who are learning in an English immersion setting acquire English language, especially, sentence structures. The subjects are 54 Japanese students at Katoh Gyosyu Gakuen, who were interviewed by being showed two sets of cartoon pictures and asked to make two stories from those pictures. The data was analyzed regarding the use of verb morphemes and sentence structures. The results showed 1) verb morphemes were observed from the early stages, 2) at grade 1. SV, SVC. SVO patterns were produced, at grade 3, SVOC was added, and SVOO was observed at grade9. In addition, before SVOO was observed SVO+Adverbial modifier was used from grade 3 (e.g. Father bought the toy dog for the daughter.) From these results it was concluded that Japanese English immersion students can learn second language from the early stages.
