The equipment to supply the large amount of compressed gases generally requires many accessories, and consequently much cost. In the case the air are planned to feed as the compressed gases, the one way is to use the compressor section of gas turbine. The compressed air are taken out through the outlet port of the section and are led to the other apparatus and act as the power source. The gas turbine can generate the large power as per its volume or its weight, and dose not need special accessories. But the cost of the brand new gas turbine is considerably high, so it is not always better as compressed air source in comparison with the motor-driven air compressor. From this point, the old type aircraft turbojet engine which closed actual on-duty life is selected and studied for this purpose. The object of this research is to show that there are some ways to utilize such engine as the simple and profitable power source.

In the preceding report, the equipment which is composed of vibrated die and pulley was used. This equipment was found to be not suitable for utilizing sufficiently the energy of ultrasonic vibration. Therefor,in this report, the second die is tried to substitute for the pulley. From the experiments by using the new equipment, the followings are observed. (1) The drawing force in environment of ultrasonics is affected by the distance between the first die and the second die. When this distance is about 137 mm, the drawing force is reduced largely. (2) The optimum distance (about 137 mm) does not change according to the size in diameter of wire. (3) It seems that the drawing force is influenced by the interaction of the three factors: the distance, the power input to electromagnetic transducer and the reduction ratio of sectional area of wire.

This paper is a report on the results of the study about the errors of the values of specific gravity of soil particles. In testing specific gravity of soil particles under JIS A 1202, the average of the values is generally taken to the nearest 0.001. But it seems that the values are affected by the operation of the test itself and by the volume change of a picnometer by temperature. So this paper describes these affection upon the values of specific gravity of soil particles. The results obtained are as follows: 1) In the case that the weight of test sample on an oven-dry basis is more than 10(g), the values of specific gravity shall be taken to the nearest 0.01. 2) The picnometer's volume change by temperature has a considerable affection upon the values of specific gravity, so I recommend that the table-3 shall be used on calculation.

In the case of that the direction of the magnetic field coincides with the charged particle concentration gradient, the refractive index has been calculated. In this paper, the equation of the refractive index is derived in the case of that the direction of the magnetic field dose not coincide with the charged particle concentration gradient. Using this equation, the refractive index of the ionosphere for the middle latitude is given.

My object in writing this paper has been to simplify the usual schemata for defining primitive recursive functions. To do this, first, we simplify the recursion scheme by using a pairing function that I have originated.

A number of problems are found in the present methods of entrance examination prevailing at technical colleges. In this paper the author tried a follow-up survey of schooling records in a college correlated to the relation between the results of entrance examination and the school reports sent from Junior High School. As a result of the survey, it was found to be highly desirable that, when the successful students are selected by the score of entrance examination and that of the reports of Junior High School, the two scores should be equivalent. This paper is concerned with a new viewpoint on the selection of entrance examination, and the author hopes that hereafter more efficient factors will be obtained in relation to the selection by continuing further to discuss subjects of the same kind as mentioned here.

The present study was undertaken for the purpose of clarifying the difference of motor abilities between right-leg and left-leg in jumping exercise. The number of the subjects were forty technical college students, and they were all healthy ordinary males. Following results were obtained from the study. (1) Generally speaking, it is well known that the right and left difference of motor abilities on leg is small in comparison with arm, which was confirmed also in this study. But as to the moderately well trained group in jumping exercise, statistically significant difference were observed in many factors. Table 1,2 shows the results. (2) Difference of jumping motor abilities between right and left on leg in running vertical jump, long jump, and triple jump were larger than that of vertical jump, standing long jump, and standing triple jump both right dominant and left dominant jumper. (3) The selection of dominant leg in general jumping exercise decide by not only partial leg motor abilities, but with all one's motor abilities inclusive of dominant arm.

Either as an adjective or a pronoun means 'one or the other' or 'one and the other.' Some grammarians say the letter is archaic and should be avoided in current English, but others think it acceptable, especially in preposition groups. The meaning and the usage of either are ambiguous and delicate. We have examined many dictionaries and grammars, and at the same time collected a lot of examples from novels and essays. Then we made the following conclusion. In current English, either in the meaning 'one and the other' is archaic. Though it may occur in more or less literary English, spoken and ordinary written English usually prefer each or both. Both, however, suggests the group-character of the two ideas referred to, but each takes them singly. So each is preferred to both in place of either. Either is said to take the singular verb, but it is now often treated as a plural because of the fundamental plurality of the conception. Either is sometimes used with regard to more than two.

Francis Bacon is famous for the saying "Knowledge is power." From the standpoint of this aphorism, criticized he the philosophies and sciences of Aristotle, Plato, Epicurus and so forth, because these studies were useless for the practical use and did not make any contribution towards man's life. Natural Philosophy that had been long forsaken, occupied in Bacon's new learning an important position. True Philosophy should, he emphasizes, take the material offered by natural history and mechanical arts, and store it into memory just like bees which gather and digest. What Bacon aimed at in his learning was to enlarge the rule and power of mankind over nature and promote man's happiness. The foundation of the Royal Society of London for Improving Nature Knowledge tells us that Bacon's long-cherished ideas were inherited and realized.
